LOCKDOWN Created by SelenusMap Description Lockdown is a map designed for Batball, a custom gametype inspired by Rocksteady's "Arkham" series of games. EDIT: The Batball gametype can be found here: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-gametypes/137372-batball.html This particular map was loosely based off of the "Survival Tactics" Predator map in Arkham Asylum, and then was subsequently adapted for the Batball gametype. Lockdown plays optimally with 3-5 players, though it can technically handle more. Everyone begins in this cell; the beams of light were meant to interact with an inmate's shock collar should he try to escape. The outer part of the map is rather open and straightforward, but don't let your guard down; Batman still has several ways to surprise you. The top-most room might seem a good place to camp and try to pick off Batman, but in practice it isn't much safer than anywhere else on the map. An important part of Lockdown is the grapple system; if Batman reaches one of the nodes in the corner, he "grapples" up at random to one of the four corners of the map- from here, he can hop across the gargoyles to drop down from great heights. Though of little consequence to the game at hand, you might find glimpses of the Asylum's more famous inmates around the map. Can you identify them all? If you're interested in more, here's the video which explains Batball (and features Lockdown heavily): Batball - YouTube Thanks in advance for any feedback, and I hope you enjoy the map. Selenus
the map looks good but could you describe the settings of the game. you don't even describe what gametype it is (i'm assuming infection?) or maybe the settings of the prisoner and the batman. were you inspired by hang em high for the map
I had rather hoped that the video I'd prepared explaining Batball would sufficiently explain the idea behind the game- it does go into exhaustive detail about the motion capabilities of Batman and the thugs. But it's an Oddball gametype, actually. I did mention that it was meant for Batball at the top of the post. I'll admit you've a valid point in that I shouldn't have assumed everyone would watch the video; for the next post I shall endeavor to be more careful to mention such details in the post as well.
What you should've mentioned is that you posted the gametype on a seperate thread, or provided a link to it. It might've been easier to just post all the maps with the gametype on a "Batball mappack"
I fixed it and added a link to the gametype; thanks for the idea. There will likely be a few different Batball map packs (organized by theme, etc.) when I post the other maps- Lockdown came first, and separately, as an introduction to the gametype, since it's the easiest to learn.
