You should have it smaller, make it look all bent and used, put it on an angle up against a wall or some kind of grunge like background, with steel or bricks. Something like that. Having the licence plate 'come out' of the sig.

Ya, emboss your letters and border, basically everything that a normal license plate does, to make them pop out more, and make it shorter so proportions are right. Also, round the corners.
