I must say, this map's gameplay does NOT get put to Shame by Sequence ;-) The visuals are rather gray and uninteresting imo however.

Haha, this map is pretty great, but its not a 1v1 so its not really the same But aesthetics don't matter on a map that plays this well. This is a great example of gameplay>aesthetics.
I gotta say aesthetics do matter. Gameplay is the core of something, but if it isn't very appealing to look at then it won't interest me as much. Kind of like making love to a very ugly girl
This whole post is exactly what is wrong with the forging community. Aesthetics mean jack **** in a map design and the sooner people realize this the better.

Didn't want to feature an MLG map before the settings were somewhat finalized, then it got pushed kinda far back because of the huge number of threads that LIGHTS started
While I don't give a piss about the aesthetics of it all, I do get tired of looking at gray. Regardless, this map kicks major ass and strikes a cord of nostalgia. I love it and will play the living hell outa it. Props Pulse.
Indeed. Rise FTW Huge congrats Pulse. I envy your ability to have made this clean a map within a week of the game coming out. Took me many weeks of observing other forgers and learning to work with the Forge World items to get Genome to a point where it looks half as good as this map. The gameplay is rock solid too, I've had some great games on Leviathan. And yes, this map does look really good. Anyone who says it doesn't can only complain about the overall grayness present in all Coliseum maps.
Cry about it if you want. But a GREAT map incorporates BOTH great gameplay and interesting/great aesthetics. You need both elements to have a great map. It is simply the way it is if you want to have a map appeal to a broad public.
i wasnt very impressed with this when i first played it (when it was first posted.) i'll have to give it another try i suppose. congrats to pulsekiller!
The geometry of this map is the aesthetic, not everything pretty in a map has to be a tree or a jumble of rocks, they can simply be the way a map is composed.
I've always had a major soft spot for MLG and more competitive playstyles. Every time we front page a map of this caliber my heart jumps for just a second. Glad we had the pleasure of featuring this.
