TIL I learnt, I only like accessible maps As for the map from the video, I like -The verticality to it -General colour scheme -Various jumps I dont like -The upper rock sections, looks cluttered/lazy and as you saw from the some of the kills, its a nightmare for the players low down to get a LOS on the area -OS placement just feels tacked on. Put it in a more defensive/power position area, and the camo can be in an undesirable location. -You champion the moving rock a little, doesnt seem to exciting to me. Ive always wanted a dynamic element in a map to be controlled by players, so would like to see this idea expanded on. -A few too many long LOS for a 2 v 2 map Also, was expecting this video to talk about the map. Instead I got told why it would be great in MM and why it may be too much for new players, citing maps that have stood the test of time for years. As the creator, you dont get to make those statements, let the players do the talking in that sense. Id rather have you talk about your inspirations and how the map was put together at the various stages to the point where it was complete. Maps (and games) that have stood the test of time have lots of depth/skill gap etc. You learn how much of a gap/learning curve these things have after years of play, not weeks. People werent proclaiming Starcraft BW to be the most amazingly indepth game in 1999....they were saying that in 2009 when it stood the test of time for 10 years. Basic point is, let the map play out before declaring the map to have a ton of depth. Apart from that mini rant, solid map, works well with Halo 5 mechanics/CE pistol, and a few small changes will help.
Well I mentioned that it's possible that the map won't have the longevity I hope it will have and that it might just suck. I don't know if it came off in the video like I was saying "this map WILL last a long time" but I was hoping it came off more as "I THINK this map will last a long time". It's possible it won't. And I mentioned that. Rock section has been cleaned up since I recorded this Regarding thud OS, I actually have considered putting camo there instead but never got around to testing it, funny that you mentioned it. I'll give it a shot And I'm pretty sure I specifically say that I don't think Legion should be in MM so much as the type of map I'm talking about... if you don't like the moving rock that's totally fine lol I understand most people won't. The LOS I also touched on in the video as one of those things that I don't think people will be comfortable with. But I'm glad you listened to the video if nothing else. Hope you get an Xbox one soon
I think people dont like the moving rock because they dont like dynamic elements, id prefer to see the dynamic element fully incorporated into the map where players have to control it like an item/area. Ive been saying this for a while but I cant envision what element I would use for such a thing.
I originally asked martian to make it so that it only moves once someone steps on it, but we don't have trigger volumes in forge. Don't know if that's more what you're talking about.
Video quote: "Super skilled friends online", "Not the best gameplay" Damn son! I think you don't know my Halo career at all. That was my first game on Legion. And for God's sake, don't you pull out a John on your aiming skills. All of us were/are rusty. Kappa approves this message. lol
