Increasing base health tips the damage scales on automatics without really affecting the precision sandbox, if anything reinforces the need for precision shots.
You don't need to go upto 120% damage (technically it's just an 8.3% increase to get a 4sk pistol). Throughout the hslo series, different shield/health/resistance stats result in very different results. A 4sk DMR had 125 damage with 150 resistance, which give the autos a huge nerf. Same thing will happen in halo 5, hell we could just ramp health up too. If you are just doing legacy settings as close to h5 as possible, I'd just keep damage the same. A 4sk pistol sandbox will be removing all the clutter anyways and weapons that do get affected for the worse, such as a 3sk BR
Alternatively Weapons 3SK BR or other utilities can become a higher tier power weapons that replace the kinda meh hydra, a weapon by design cause the player to avoid combat altogether
Rifles on top of rifles just lead to cluttered sandboxes, and a 3sk BR is too easy to use. True power weapons serve a better purpose
True, but I feel the addition to the power weapon sandbox in H5 with the hydra is poor recreation of the plasma launcher. Due to the descope mechanic often making lockon not possible, it leads to a weapon that works against map flow, as players are forced to avoid combat to use it effeicently. In vehicle based maps, it has a much better place, and in ways is a good weapon to take down vehicles without destroying them in a instant, and in that regard could replace the RL and Spartan Laser as a antivehicle weapon on Vehicle Based maps.
Yeah I kinda went off on a tangent haha my mind is wandering. Anyway. Worrying about the automatic sandbox is unnecessary due to health + damage tweaks
Let's push your game type for a weekend playlist when you feel it's ready. 5 or 6 maps should be compatible. Pegasus, the rig, colliseum, plaza and regret? I'd really like to see this and I'm sure a lot of other people would too.
That would be awesome if 343 would pick up legacy as an 'official' GT, but I doubt they will considering they've made it quite clear that they're trying to leave behind their own footprint, and sponsoring Bungie's isn't exactly the way to go about that.
