Valve announced today that it plans to release the first DLC campaign for Left 4 Dead 2 in "late March" for the Xbox 360 and PC. Dubbed The Passing, this campaign will take place in rural Georgia and feature the non-playable survivors from the original Left 4 Dead. Francis, Zoey, Louis and Bill will help the new set of survivors make their way through the third act of the campaign. The Passing will also have new areas for Survival, Scavenge and Versus modes. A new co-op challenge mode will be introduced as well as a new uncommon-common infected known as the Fallen Survivor, which drops items such as medkits when killed.

The Passing will be followed by some DLC for the original Left 4 Dead revealing how the original group of survivors made it to Georgia in the first place. Sorry guys, but this DLC will not be compatible with Left 4 Dead 2. But just look on the bright side: Valve is keeping their promise to continue support for the original game. Nice to hear. Anybody excited by this news?
