So I was working on a paper using my laptop this morning and all of a sudden the screen just went black. My laptop was and still is running but the screen itself won't display anything. I can tell that the LCD is actually on, like the backlight or whatever seems to still be working. Also, I can hook the laptop up to my tv using HDMI and it will display on the tv. I have tried some logical things to fix it but I don't have much experience with computer hardware. The laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6000 that I got about 4 years ago, so its been used quite a bit. Although before today I haven't had any issues with the laptop really. I was just going to see if anyone at FH might have a possible solution before I try to get it fixed or go shopping for a new one. Thanks in advance.

Getting a new one might be your best bet, especially if the one you are trying to fix is four years old.
I don't really know how to fix anything when it comes to computers though, so I have no idea.

Yeah I've been wanting to get a new one for a while but until now this one has been running fine for college use. So I guess at least now I have an excuse to get a new one.
