Labyrinth of the Destructaur Created by buddhacrane, Mental, and Mander Required Gametype: Labyrinth of Supported Players: 2-16 For the moment, put yourselves in the boots of a Peasant. You have discovered a large labyrinth, and are wandering aimlessly around the corridors hoping to find a way out, assisted only by experimental technology that will blow your mind. Suddenly, an evil presence awakens; the Destructaur, part man part Minotaur. He is angry that you have disturbed his maze, and begins barreling through all of the obstacles in his way in a quest to find you. He may not be able to outrun you, but it doesn’t matter; he can just barge through the walls without slowing him down one bit. This is the Labyrinth of the Destructaur. I’m not even sure what to say about this map. It’s essentially the Peasant Hunt gametype fused with a Minotaur Maze on steroids. The hunter can do far more than just run fast and be invisible; he can tear down the walls thanks to the clever (read: genius) ideas of BuddhaCrane, xxxMentalxxx, and Mander A1. Also included is phasing through windows, teleporting mongooses, weapon-removing shield-doors, and general awesomeness. I know that sounds like a lot to take in, because it is. Even after dissecting this map in forge I cannot figure out how he did half of it! Hopefully, someday I will. Download it, right after you enjoy my images stolen from buddhacrane himself! I'm both mad and happy at this choice at the same time. I'm mad because there were almost no good maze maps around when I started work on mine. Then like a few days before I was ready to release my minotaur map Buddha comes out of nowhere with this and completely stole mine's thunder I'm happy because although it stole mine's thunder this is a great map and an even greater concept. Where mine is about getting to an "end", Buddha/Mander/Mental's is about survival, which in the end is probably a much more enjoying experience. It certainly makes this map much more replayable than mine. So while this post must sound like sour grapes to some or even advertising to others, I truly respect this map and think it is great for maze maps overall, and I can rest easy knowing my map was pushed into obscurity by this better maze game.
"It'll be nothing but sour grapes for you boy, until you get right with Jesus!" +somuchrep if you get the reference without help. You know who you are.
Wow, thanks for the feature guys! Such a nice surprise to come here and see our map on the front page!
I knew this would've been featured. It had to be, it really did. Most minigames don't even compare to this in terms of enjoyability and technicality. Amazing job, Mander, Mental, and Buddha.
Yours had no thunder in the first place. lol Anyways, it was quite obvious that this would happen eventually, imo. Doesn't this mean Mander is Artisian?
Ha, it just irks me to vote positively on my own map. It seems conceited. But then again, I couldn't stand not voting. So I made a compromise.
It's a Halo Forging site dumbass. We're playing this right now (Sarge's afterparty). It's pretty damn awesome
This is the most innovative game that I have seen in Reach. This might end up bringing me back to my xbox. Halo has been really lacking some awesome content as of late. The mechanics alone are enough to get this map featured imo.
As if this wasn't going to be featured. As per, every mechanic that comes within 50 feet of Buddhacrane and the gang gets worked to its full potential and leaves us feeling a little mind-raped. Great work, guys. Well deserved feature.
lol chrst and shadow coming back every now and again only to be condescending. I dont think ive seen a single comment from either of you that didn't have a level of condescension in months. rofl. this map presentation is potentially the best i've ever seen, it's good to see innovation with the action sack gametypes, especially plastered on the front page. Bravo on the feature guys
This map is a gem. One of the most original maps Iv'e played on Reach. Good job Buddha, Mander, and Mental. I remember CF making me playing this over and over... hahahaha.
