DOWNLOAD KOBRAKAI HERE Kobrakai is a unique competitive map that ideally holds up to 12 players. Although it can be played with more, this may result in the gameplay not flowing as it should, as the map isn't that big. When playing a team game, players initially spawn in the two bases (that can be seen on the right and left of the picture above) and make their way down to the platform where the fight begins. Here is a picture of this area from a different view: The small grassy area, surrounded by rocks, is where a shotgun lies. Behind this, there is another two bases. On this platform there is a pyramid which contains a turret: You can leave this platform to use the rest of the map on the left or right of this pyramid. The rest of the map is underneath this platform, and also coming out from the hangar a little bit. Here is a screenshot of the area which contains the sword: If you follow the path straight ahead of where the sword is, you will reach the area that contains the rocket launcher and a man cannon: Here is another screenshot of a nearby area: I started making this map about a year and a half ago and I only recently decided to upload it. I apologise for the lack of game-types that you are able to play on it, but I was hoping that if people thought this map had potential then maybe they'd complete those aspects of it. I would appreciate feedback, although I would suggest trying the map out with other people before judging it, as some of the problems that have been suggested don't seem to occur when I play with other people. Thank you for reading, please download and share DOWNLOAD KOBRAKAI HERE
There is a few problems I can see right away. First of all, the turret is placed in a very easily campable position. Sure you could just throw a grenade there but that would discourage players a bit. Secondly, the Cup flags sticking out like that doesn't look too good. If you really want to include the flags in the map aesthetic then I would recommend adding something to it to make it seem more physically possible. Also, having the Rocket Launcher just straight down a corridor from an Energy Sword is a bit of a map breaker. One player could easily obtain both weapons quickly and just camp somewhere. And nobody likes a weapon hog, or a map that promotes it. Furthermore, having no way of stopping engagement as soon as one attempts to leave their base at the start isn't really fun for the players on either team. It also paints a near instant impression of the map which, by the start, would end up being a bad one. Finally, the player count is a bit high for a map that looks this small. However, I will take a look at it in Forge and see if it looks big enough.
Thanks for the feedback. I understand what you are saying, but maybe I haven't described it that well in this thread. I have tried it out with other players and it seems to flow fine, but I will take your comments on board, thank you I would say that the best way to understand my aims with this map is to download it and see though.
The sword is a big nope on a map like this. With all those corners and tight corridors it becomes way too powerful. Also there appears to be quite a few prefab buildings. Try to steer clear of using them in the obvious way they were meant to. Doing that doesn't separate your map from others in a way that original structures would.
Maybe I'm not the best when it comes to the nitty gritty of weapon placement etc. But I have played this map in a game of 6v6 and there didn't seem to be any obvious problems to do with this. There is one part of the map where prefab buildings are used in the expected way, but I feel this map has plenty of unique features that make it stand out. Thanks for the feedback
the map looks okay but the rocks feel really unaturally placed and look almost fake, like all placeable rocks in forgeworld, but maybe the rocks could have looked better, the weapons places seems good and the gameplay looks like it would flow well through the map and not camp except maybe in the turret alocove but other than that the map looks good and most importantely the map looks like fun so good job
The rocks do look a bit unrealistic in some areas i suppose, but then again Halo isn't exactly realistic itself. The turret seems like an obvious place to camp but its actually surprisingly hard to camp there. Try it out in a game with others and see what you think. Thanks for the feedback!
I downloaded this map and played it with some friends. Have to say, it's very well forged and a lot of fun to play! It would have been nice to see more game types available though
I was going to provide feedback but all KaL does is deny the obvious faults with this map. Fix what the others have said instead of saying that they are wrong
http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-forge-discussion/138936-deluded.html there are a lot of people like that Badger, relax and don't feed the trolls
I just don't like it when people quite passionately slate my map without even trying it, the reason being because I have played many games on it with many different people and these problems didnt occur. I agree that premade buildings used in the obvious way isn't good, but I don't like how he made my map out to be boring and uninteresting because of this, as I feel there has been a lot of imagination put into it. I would actually like to hear your feedback.
I was just saying that a lot if people here have made unbelievable maps so you should consider what they are saying. No one likes criticism, but in the end it makes your maps better.
I'm sorry if I appeared rude but I have considered what they are saying. But surely for one to get a detailed report of a map they have to at least download it and try it out? Because there have been some people that criticise maps based on what they see in a thread, and in my opinion that is being a bad critic. But don't get me wrong, I understand they know what they are talking about and I am learning from it, I just felt a bit disrespected. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I am in the process of making another map which in my opinion is better (practice makes perfect) but i still think highly of kobrakai.
