[SIZE=+1]Remember in the Forgeworld reveal video Bungie released? Remember the section showing a warthog being used as a hill? This is a recreation of that.[/SIZE] This map is a fun little KOTH minigame. The idea is for the player to stay inside the hill for as long as possible. Created by Me and my good friend Gruntgonian95 Each player starts of with an AR, Pistol and an Armour Ability at the edge of the map and must race to the middle to gain control of the warthog. To score you must remain inside the hill (the warthog). You can drive and ride in the warthog, but the gunner seat cannot be used, as it can be used to gain a massive advantage over the other players. Players who are in the hill are weaker than those outside the hill, and players are invincible for 2 seconds after a respawn to prevent any spawn killing and there are also 5 weapons on the map, designed to make it harder to stay in the warthog. If the warthog falls off the edge of the cliff, it will take around 20 seconds to respawn (even though the timer is set to 1) and players can either hide and wait for a respawn or fight to the death! [SIZE=+1]Honour Rules[/SIZE] Do not use any power weapons on other players who are not in the hill unless there is no hill available. Everything looks good to me but what is the point of the buildings. I get that it's there to provide aesthetics for an otherwise plain map; however, it seems very unnecessary. Try to make it more functional to the gameplay. Ramps maybe? It'd be cool if you could make it all natural too using only rocks (except for the middle warthog spawn).
The area looks pretty boring. You could add so much more to it. Maybe a bridge outside the platform. Or a grav lift and some more elevation... this won't get many downloads this way.
Honour rules. This means I won't download the game, because no one ever follows them. Next time, try and eliminate any "honour rules" from the game, simply because of how useless they are against any player who wants to play the game their way.
Maybe try an different area, one with more obstacles ie: rocks trees hills and such. the buildings look ok but too plain, try spicing them up a bit with little features ie: antenna, back doors, secret doors!? other than that the game type could have some potential. good for a start!
Thanks for all the good feedback guys, its great to see that people remember this. I will be making some major improvements to this map as you have suggested, but this post was designed to test out the gametype more than the maps, but the feedback is relevant none the less.
no offense, but i could have built this with my eyes closed. You need to seriously re consider the surrounding area, its super boring. I would suggest moving into the canyon, forgetting the building, and adding obstacles that the warthog has to avoid and people can hide behind to jack the "hill". If i had to rate it out of five stars, i would give it a one.
what if you made people not in the hill fast (but hog is faster) and invincible and set it in the canyon with some ramps this would mean no honour rules and make it more fun, the quarry could be a little small, but you might want to add a soft kz to cordon off part of the canyon since it is so huge
Can you read? I mentioned in my replies to other comments that this map is designed to test out the gametype, rather than the map, and i will be creating other maps to go with the gametype. Thank you for your constructive comment, its nice too see people have read what i have written and commented based on what i have said. I will look into this, although i think the canyon may be a bit too big to play on.
