This should of been something to post in Off Topic, not General Chat, and then again this could even be considered in a way slightly to be subliminal advertising, but I'm not going to go that far, the staff can do what they feel is right. I'm not going to bother to open his site up right now, but he hasn't already recorded studio music, then I can definitely reccommend that if he's serious about going somewhere with his band, then he should take it serious. So I do would like to offer some advice though for your friend and his band. I'd suggest getting serious studio recording done, set up a myspace account for the band, get some songs on there, and add a whole bunch of people. Set up a Last.fm account to and do the same thing. If they haven't already I'd suggest performing live at local places to get known throughout his and the bands community and to possibly give out free stuff from them, maybe even free cds to get people even more interested.....that's pretty much all I can think of for now.
Adding a bit more info might help the cause of this thread. Genre, where they based out of, accomplishments so far, etc. If people have some lazy info in front of their eyes, they will be more inclined to support someone.
