Forged by Chron.<Insert Fancy Story Title Here> Kai is a medium-small map that works exceptionally well with 2v2 games while also being able to comfortably support 1v1 games and 3-man FFA. Kai began not long after Flamingo and I had decided to move on from our first co-forge, named Protagonist, due to the issues that plagued the map. Having learned from the issues that were present we set out to create something bigger and better to play on. Flamingo once again chose to design the map, while I would create it in forge. The idea that Flamingo had was to incorporate a catwalk that leads from one area of the map and then into another. After Flamingo had come up with a rough design, he handed it off to me and I began to shape the map into what it is now. hmmmm it looks like i might of seen this before from either you or flamingo but im not sure but does look good... especially thos 2x2 flats
Theres's something about this map that just feels right. The gameplay is smooth and the nice aesthetics really make this map enjoyable to play on. I'm still questioning the lift. It's extremely loud and the reward for going through it, is somewhat...un-reliable. Keep up the good work, guys.
Trying to figure out what has changed. The teleport looks different (though it is hard to tell if it would be more obvious from this angle.) The map was a lot of fun, though we could control the game pretty well by having one guy on the custom power up side of the glass catwalk and one guy by active camp. Good job so far!
While I'm sure this will develop into another solid release, I would encourage you to try another style of map, CF. I know you're capable of more than gaping corridors.
I'm a fan. For some reason, the green objects and textures you guys used made the map stand out and feel generic at the same time (yeah, I know that doesn't even make sense). Either way, the map was fun, and it's cool that you can have good 1v1s and good 2v2s on here. Good work guys, I'm sure I'll be playing this more soon.
This map is WAAAAAY to big for 1v1 games, why don't you try at least a 3v3 or 4v4 on it, and maybe expand the weapon set so it can accommodate more players, throw in some snipers and other stuff. We all love the GL, but I feel you keep restricting yourself with these 4 player maps, you both have some talent. Make it more generic and usable for more than just a custom slayer game and branch out a bit. Also, you forgot the picture we discussed.
Reminds me of the same style as nicka back in halo 3. I loved his maps as they were focused more around design than flashiness. Looks good. Hopefully the gameplay is as good as the design makes it seem.
Sky, this map is nowhere near the size of a 4v4. 3v3s would be stretch because the LoS are perfectly so that even 1v1s can be fast paced. Anyway, Kai was and is a great experience. The map is clean, aesthetic, and holds great gameplay within its walls. Cant wait to see how it turns out. (Play more games with meh!)
