Just a little idea I came up with. Now jump strength and gravity are two different factors. Assuming that 200% gravity with 200% jump strength gives you a 100% jump height, you can allow players to fall more quickly, while at the same time getting a normal jump. This way all obstacles can be overcome as usual, but you need better timing to scale a wall. On the other hand, assuming 50% gravity with 50% jump strength gives you 100% jump height, you can jump large distances at a standard height. This way players may not be able to jump a double box in a single bound, but can jump twice the normal distance. Of course, I don't have reach, so I don't know if that will work exactly like that, but by guessing off the firefight options presented in that one Bungie update, this should be possible. Just an idea for anyone who could use it in a puzzle map or something.
Something to think about, huh? Maybe gravity will now affect movable items! Like pallets! And crates! Floating boxes that move when you jump on them?
That would make the best jump map/mini-game ever! Just think, if you could have a space-themed map like in the space-box of Zealot.
I didn't think about this, in fact I didn't know they were separate options now. Assuming that you and il-informed then yes, the settings you said would work. It should make for some very interesting gametypes and mini-games with this. I'm glad you brought up the subject.
They are differn't settings but I can't remeber if the gravity is a global setting or the players settings, that would matter in if it effects objects. Great idea you have there can't wait to see you test it out >;D
This would be great for my Battle Of Sturges map. From the Firefly universe The Battle Of Sturges was as bloody if not worse than Serenity Valley, hundreds of thousands dead, their remains and their broken ships all floating in space. I wanted to make a map with a bunch of stuff hung about and people floating through it with jetpacks, falcons, and banshee's. With this someone could bound about in the debris field easily enough.
Lowering the gravity also decreases fall damage. At 50% fall damage no longer exists. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
could make for some interesting gametypes... 50% gravity and 200% jump strength = 25% gravity. add jetpack to that.... could be an amazing looking leap lol
are you guys sure that the gravity Cant go below 50%??? maybe they have it so u could have like 10% or 0% !!!!! ^_^ i doubt that tho
i hope you know that just like all punctuation, an exclamation point goes directly after the word, no spaces. just a pet peeve of mine. and i think we are just estimating based on H3s, but i cant even remember what its limit was.
I'm pretty sure the option is "player gravity" so probably no effect on movable objects... Vehicles however may be effected... Sweet air jumps
I hope you know that like all Sentences, they should all be started with a capital letter, and your (i) should also be capitalised. As you can see I can be a forum grammar **** also.
Ok, both of your grammar is appalling. You can't randomly capitalize letters, I'm pretty sure **** should be capitalized, there should be a comma after the can in "as you can see," there should be a space between the period and the letter A, if you are going to use the word like there has to be a comma before and after the word, and finally you need to have a subject from which "they" can be specified as. Sorry, people saying that they can be grammar Nazis and making spelling/grammar mistakes drives me insane. ON TOPIC: Here's the link to the Bungie Update with the options: Tadah! So whoever brought up the fact it was player gravity, thank you that's right. A little bit of a bummer, but we can work around it.
just watched leaked footage of the jump height gravity thing.... jump height 300% plus gravity 50% equals 50 foot jumps for 10 seconds or more hang time
I believe that it will affect the speed of the jump and height like in halo 3. Example 200% gravity makes you fall faster, 50% makes you fall slower. I doubt that it will affect movable objects but it still might be possible
