http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaeERnIPhG0 This is a snickers commercial, its was banned from ever being shown.. Why? Because it was offensive to gays. What confuses me is that it never revealed the man's sexual preference or ANYTHING. Do you think this offensive to gays? Gays, does video offend you? I see nothing offensive about this video to gays, and honestly I think everyone should see why it isn't.
I don't think it was directed at gay people. I think the fact he was saying "you a disgrace to the man race" and the 'GET SOME NUTS' statement at the end should be the reason it was banned. During the whole video, I never saw a thing to prove he was gay. Although it's funny how the truck randomly explodes out of the second story of a house.
Bad move posting it here man. The gays of this site get offended by anything that could possible seen to be even remotely hinting in the general direction of being even mildly insulting to them.
It's not making fun of gays at all.... normal straight guys speedwalk too, it's not a gay thing. The issue was him saying "Get some Nuts" which is ridiculous to get upset about.
are you kidding me, its freaking hilarious! sorry for being off topic. im not going to answer the question. you asked for gays to answer. no offense gays. u stole the rainbow gays. no offense gays.
Nothing was depicted that made the walker gay, but people, like the people in this thread, automatically assume he is. It's because of people's ignorance that this commercial was banned
Speedwalking? Looks like he's jogging. And I don't find this offensive at all. Get some nuts = Best slogan ever.
I dont see this as being offensive. But if one persone does, everyone does. People in this world are incredibly sensitive.
I'm not sure how that would be offensive....unless you make the assumption that only gay people speed walk. That would be a very stupid assumption.
far from offensive. "get some nuts" like there hasn't been a little innuendo or sexual references on television before? If you assume he's gay, you're stereotyping, which is far worse than the commercial itself. Which was actually really funny. This reminded me of the Mike's Hard Lemonade "in a world gone soft" commercials. Same concept, but those weren't banned from anything.
i feel that the only reason that anyone would find this ofensive is because america today is driven by steriotypes. there is nothing sayint the speed walker is gay, but because america is how it is today, people will think he is gay and there for assume this commericial as am attack towards gay people (which its clearly not)
This is kind of an either side argument. If you are airing that commercial on a channel like mad tv then no its not offensive because its funny and it would sell lots of snickers bars. However if you where to are that on a channel like global where everyone from little kids to your 800 year old grandma watch then yes it is. He is assuming that speed walkers are gay, he's shooting at him and he calls him a cracker.
I'm sorry, but what are you talking about, little kids to you 800 year old grandma? I fail to see your point? Not to mention you just completely elaborated on age there... No, anyone can view it, and should. Mad TV is still public television, where those little kids and 800 year old grandmas can just change the channel. Saying something is right in one instance, but not in the other is hypocritical. But what bothers me more is that you, like many others, have said that Mr. T is shooting at the guy because he is gay. Where the hell in the video does it say the guy is gay? The most suggestive thing is "You are a disgrace to the human race!" And that does not have anything to do with being gay. It is assumed men act big and strong, and powerwalking seems timid and weak. No where does it say that it is gay. That's being stereotypical. As for cracker, who gives a ****? They call us crackers all the time, so? It doesn't hurt my feelings, and no one even cares to do anything about it. Seriously, have can the word "cracker" be offensive to anyone? They will always call us cracker, and we will call the ****** (yes, I said it, but why does it matter? I did not use it as an insult, I just said another word) , and it makes no difference anymore.
I think it was just an altogether bad ad. It didn't offend me, but I think that it just wasn't well done anyway. Why would Mr. T have a snicker gatling gun anyway?
I think the question you should be asking yourself is why wouldn't Mr. T have a Snickers Gatling gun?
Oh my gosh, Best ad ever! Seriously it is. It is just so perfectly executed it's amazing! Anyways, it's not offense, in fact there's another "get some nuts" Ad about a soccer player who "thinks" he's injured, which appears to have not been banned.
