Yeah, and hopefully we get some good maps from that. I think they should have made a way to host your maps and have other people play on them, or visa versa (customs matchmaking). Maps could then be rated, the highest rated maps would reviewed by Bungie, and then finally put into regular matchmaking. I think that the fact that they didn't do this was huge failure on Bungie's part. Your map looks awesome btw. The idea of bloom isn't bad, but in its current state, it's nearly pointless. A whole team using AL, and using it well = unstoppable. Not just sort of hard to beat. Unstoppable.
Agreed; some kind of custom game finder would have been great for Reach. I'm pretty sure Bungie does look around for good maps to use, maybe in places like the most recommended files and our very own Forge Hub's Featured Maps section. After a while, I don't think a lack of custom content will be an issue. And thanks for the compliment. Hopefully, it'll make it's way into matchmaking too.
That would actually be pretty cool. The only thing I'd be afraid of is constantly running into terrible maps.
Yeah. They could have different playlists for that. One to test do the first stages in testing, and one for high rated maps. If the first one doesn't get enough players, there could be like a credit incentive or something. It's definitely something they should test out.
They should add a playlist called Team Customs. There would be two teams of 6 people (perfect for big and small maps, just like in the Noble Map Pack playlist) where there would be only custom maps and gametypes.
this would cause: 1) constant quitting, because randoms would get thrown into your custom party and hate your map and quit out right away if it wasnt what they wanted 2) abuse of the rating system in a large way Bungie did the right thing with Forgetacular, asking for more is kind of selfish and absurd
This made me laugh a little. While it would be difficult, most certainly not impossible. It's not like they're always immune to damage. While they're armor locking, you find the sword/Grenade Launcher/ Rocket Launcher/ Fuel Rod Gun, etc, etc, Basic grenade... and use smart timing to beat them. In actuality, an entire team using AL could be easily outdone, with the proper anti-armorlock strategies in place.
You have no proof of that. I don't see why it's not worth trying out at least, then we would have more than just speculation to go off of. Asking for more than that is selfish? You act like Bungie is just slaving away making games for nothing in return. Not really. The damage dealt by your team gets spread out or absorbed by AL, while your team is receiving all the damage. They might lose one or two because of bad timing or something but it's really ridiculous. One of the main reasons why elite slayer sucks.
It's less fun, because the novelty has died down a bit, but its still far from boring. And hell, this is the first time that I actually started to get good at a video game. Normally I just have fun getting pwned by all the people who can actually play. Now I one of them.
It was getting really boring.....for a really long time. But after enduring through the boredom and difficulty, it has finally began to get fun. Most likely it will get fun once again (which I hope it does), because I really love Halo. The same thing happened to me with Halo 3 and MW2. But eventually I grew to love 'em.
