So my younger brother is becoming a real pain in the youknowwhat because he thinks the Xbox is all his, and it's getting to the level of him being so addicted to it that he's becoming even more immature about the situation than he was previously. So with him annoying my friends over Xbox, killing my K/D's, and junking up the harddrive, i'm selling a bunch of things, getting a 32' TV, an xbox, and my own live membership.
So with me getting a new LIVE membership and Xbox, is it possible to....
    - copy campaign data, forge maps, other junk from my old harddrive onto the new one without deleting it off of the xbox i share with my brother. I really don't want to start Quake 4 over again.
    - move my current game history, commendations, and Reach rank onto my new gamertag.
    - Make a new windows live account on the same email as the one i have now.
    - Move DLC onto my new harddrive and gamertag.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    1) You can copy it, yes. But I don't believe you'd be able to play it not on your account.
    2) Nope
    3) Nope
    4) A pattern emerges... Nope.

you can get a transfer cable and copy all of your achievements and game data to the new hard drive, the cable is like 20$ or something. i did it when i got a new Elite and wanted to get all the old stuff off my other box.

That's when you're transferring your Gamertag as well. He wants to transfer data saved to his profile to a new profile.

Solution: Keep your profile. Make the kid get his own profile if he wants to goof around on the xbox.

    This ^

If it is a younger brother then you should have priority over your gamertag. Make another one and make him pay for it.

Lol my older brother would have punched me in the face in your situation. You shouldn't buy a new xbox just because he's messing with your account, tell him to get his own.

Telling him to get his own account doesn't fix the brother hogging the xbox problem. I'd suggest doing all of what he said he'd do, except getting a new gt.

There is family controls on the xbox for a reason, set your account with a password, and have his account only have a certain amount of time its allowed to play a day. Or something like that.

Oh yea there is nothing worse than playing a game you like over again...

IF you really want to fuss about it, tell your mom you will pay for the Xbox live subscription yourself and then she can pay for one of him to have on his own.

And if you were paying for it on your own in the first place them tell him tough ****ing luck. Same to your mom. Your money, your toy.

My parents are on his side, he is the biggest baby ever, I could go on about that but i wont.

It was a situation where if we shared a GT we wouldn't pay **** for it, I didn't care much then, because I never played much until I joined here, and when I got Reach. They kicked me out of my own room and i'm stuck in a room the size of most of your closets, all because he "had too many clothes and they took up the space in his room". So they bought me a new mattress and moved me to his room. I can't stand it. His friends ****ing piss me off with their 8 year old voices and temper tantrums, I tried to convince my parents to let me keep my account "mcneelyman" (his idea for a gay name that my parents accepted) but they wont budge. I may just keep my GT and keep the Xbox we share, not worth wasting my money, especially with school starting up again. But on the bright side, if I get straight A's trimester 1, their gonna buy me an Xbox, so i might just pick up the argument again in December.

    Get a new Xbox.
    Get a new TV.
Download your GT from Xbox Live onto the new Xbox.
Use a memory stick/pen drive/flash drive to copy your maps and stuff to the new Xbox.
    ???
    Profit.

It's been said before but if you use another gt you lose all the data associated with it. If your ok with that than go with it.

    The sneaky solution:

Spend 800 MS points to change your gamertag to something else, then create a silver account with the name of your old account on the same drive. Then put a password on your 'old account with the new name' and make the new, silver account with the old name auto-login whenever the xbox is turned on. He'll never figure it out.

As to the brother glued to the xbox problem, you're on your own, but my previous solution fixes some of your problems without him nor your parents knowing any better and with only a minimal cost to you.

No post in this thread has been entirely correct. I know a lot about this kind of stuff, so let's clear some things up.

Any file that you can find by going into System Settings > Memory > (Hard Drive) can have it's ownership transferred to another profile/account. Unless, of course, that it's marketplace content or another profile. Marketplace Content includes DLC, Avatar Items, Arcade Games/Games on Demand, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of games save data directly to the data file that contains your profile. This means you can't directly get those back. But, any User Created Content is stored as a separate file and, as such, can be given to another person. PM me if you want the information on how to do this, as I may get in trouble for saying it on this site. However, gamesave sharing is not breaking the LIVE terms of service. Thus, you cannot get in trouble for it.

Theoretically, yes. You can. But this would be getting into actual modding which does break the MS Terms of Service... That and doing any of these would probably get your new gamertag banned very quickly.

Nope. Not possible. Your email is your windows live account.

You can't give your new gamertag possession of the DLC or any Marketplace content, but you can do a License Transfer to your new xbox which will let anyone on said xbox use any DLC, while the original account that owns it can still use it on any xbox they use so long as they're signed in.

Buy a new 20 gig Xbox and new shiny silver gt for your brother and tell him to GTFO your xbox.

No offense, but your parents are pretty retarded if what you are saying is true. If you pay for your XBL account you shouldn't have to give a **** about what your little brother or your parents do, because it's your money.

Oh. In that case, you should tell your parents that they need to be fair, in terms of Xbox sharing.
