Denied. This fits perfectly well into the aesthetic section, where we've seen lots of switches and small pieces of maps and the like.

I like the idea, personally. Very unique.

Oh, and keep up the arguing and we'll have to have some infractions going around :surprise:

Devinish and I experimented with this very same idea and tried to make it work in conjunction with our Tremor Blast map we released not too long ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't a viable defense from a wraith blast, otherwise we would have used it. But the concept does work, and probably very well from normal gunfire. Its unfortunate that the number of teleporter nodes keeps this from being a full bubble, but there are some formations that can be made with the use of some blocks that can work pretty well to achieve the same affect. Some more rectangular/square formations with a block for a roof or something like that would be more practical. One thing we tried was to take a Y-intersection and line the 3 entrances with the nodes. It should work pretty well for what you're going for.

EDIT: We did use a slightly different formation of the nodes, though. If you imagine the node as a Y formation, we alternated them side by side like:
Y, upside down Y, Y, upside down Y, Y, upside down Y, etc. I think it covers more surface area overall like that. Something to look into.

I experimented with this idea for a bit (except it was a cover for a door (because I had to figure out a way to keep people from shooting inside but still allow vehicles to pass through)). The main problem I run into is that it consumes a lot of the budget; also, I needed to make another set for the base on the other side, but I ran out of receiver nodes.

Never tried making it into a bubble, though. That would be nice; a piece of cover that doesn't obstruct movement.

Well neither does a Bubble Shield and there are four of those. But I guess if you aren't using teleporters and you are looking for a permanent/passable cover, someone may consider this.

This is genious! Do you mind if I use this in a map I am going to begin working on very soon? It would fit in PERFECTLY with the map and add an unbelieveable amount of depth to it! Basically the whole map is going to have a theme like technology going crazy and possibly a flood/ infection feel as well, so I already have like three ideas of how I could use this concept. I just wouldn't want you feeling like I copied you or stole the idea from you or anything like that.

No, i dont mind you using it, thats the exact reason i posted this, so people could use it as an option in their maps, so feel free to use it.

Its actually going to become the center piece of a central chamber in the map I'm going to make. The map will have three halls coming together in a Y shape with the bottom of teleporters as walls at the end, so that you can't see into the inner chamber basically. But the chamber will have an entrance from above at the center so you can drop down into the middle, or have three normal entrances inbetween each of the teleporter walls, or maybe all of that if I can manage to get it all put in the map.
