As most of us should know, Bungie is adding a new species of Covenant to the next Halo game, Halo: Reach. These are the ferocious and tenacious Skirmishers, cousins of the Jackals. There could possibly even be more species that are under wraps, but nothing has been announced or even hinted at yet. Anyway, the title should already tell you what the point of this thread is: invent a new Covenant species!
the gruntasaur. essentially a grunt the size of a hunter. and it older cousin the gruntatron. a bionic grunt the size of scarabs that shoots lasers from its eyes, with a hatch in the back of its head, b/c thats where the driver sits. (sgt. johnson would control it... or maybe dead cpt. keys... wouldnt that be a twist?)

Swarm Drones- a smaller, faster, harder to aim at version of the flying insect. Maybe with plasma pistol and carbine and some kind of bite from behind that takes down shield/health. Also it would come in much greater numbers at once, from above, as a cloud. Grunt Cavalry- grunts on some type of four legged animal, with lots of nades. No stronger, just faster and more agile, more likely to sneak up on you
SCRUNT: A Grunt-Sized Scarab that has no mercy and a pack mentality. A SCRUNT is able to traverse any terrain with great proficiency with the exception of Water and other fluid-like environments. Like the Jackal, the Scrunt is known to "Zerg Rush" its opponent, and in larger packs, they have been known to flank succesfully. Created after the Covenant forced an Engineer to combine Brute Worms with Nano Technology, this weapon was soon after mass produced. Usually found in groups of 3-5, they are incredibly fast and very dangerous at close proximity due to the Twin Mounted Maulers fixed upon the Chasis. Weapons: 2x Mauler Movespeed: 110% Damage Resistance: 25% SCRUNT CAPTAIN: The Captain of Scrunts is a Terrorist at heart, featuring the unique ability of deploying a Trip-Mine after it is destroyed, many have defeated a Captain only to succumb to its powerful aftermath in a shock wave of carnage. This system was initially developed as a defense mechanism, however it has been retooled as a last-ditch effort to inflict maximum damage. This secondary weapon system is in addition to its Twin Mounted Maulers, making the SCRUNT CAPTAIN truly a force to be reckoned with. Weapons: 2x Mauler Equipment: 1x Trip Mine Movespeed: 110% Damage Resistance: 75% LOL!

Elite Cheiftan, highest of the high in the Elite Hierarchy "before the Covenant". Weilds a massive plamsa spear/hammer (much like Tatarus hammer but better) Wears a mixture between Council Armor and Arbiter Armor. Magna Lekgolo (Hunter) Largest of the large hunter (except Scarabs) About 4x the size of a regular hunter. Hosts a mini scarab gun on its right arm. Has no partner, Bosts a Metallic Purple suit. Technically nothing anyone has posted is a species just variants of the known species lol.
