Hello, hello. Just thought I'd drop in and introduce myself... I probably won't be an incredibly active poster on this forum, but will be reading a lot here. I'm a semi-active Halo 3 player; not as active as I used to be but I still thoroughly enjoy the game. I played both Halo 2 and Halo: CE, but not nearly as much as Halo 3. I am a pretty competitive and have considered at times trying to work towards being a professional MLG Halo 3 player. I'm not amazingly good, but I can hold my own; I'd say my skill is around the 85th percentile of Halo 3 players. I have made about a dozen maps in Foundry, and would say I'm at an intermediate level when it comes to forging. I have probably spent about 30-40 hours in Foundry. I know all the basics (interlocking, etc), but want to get better at more advanced techniques. I am planning on making a very accurate (as precise as possible) remake of Ascension using Sandbox once the Mythic maps are released as DLC. I'm sure I'll need some help from the experts here to get it smooth, proportional and functional. tanks
Welcome!! I'm looking forward to seeing what you can create. Here at FH we have a valuable resource the Tester's Guild. We test the technical aspects of maps and fine tune them for release. When I first joined I found myself looking to learn more about maps. The Tester's Guild is where I honed my map knowledge. Be sure and stop by the Tester's Guild Forum and you may learn a thing or two. Links above my signature. Hope to see you around.
Thanks for the welcome and the help guys. I will definitely make use of the Tester's Guild once I get a working version up and running.
I don't really know you but most legit Generals are more like 95 percentile. Theres alot of noobs out there..;D Welcomingface.
You're probably right... *shrug* If you ever think you're really good and want a good humbling experience hop on the MLG playlist. Its the only playlist I consistently get pwned in (i.e. steaktacular'd). Question to mythic map owners: In sandbox, do the cracks between touching blocks still act the same as the cracks between foundry boxes? What I mean is, when you push two blocks together side-by-side, do you still get a little bump between them? Can grenades fall through or shoot off at weird angles if you throw them at the cracks? Am I going to have to interlock all my ground tiles to avoid this like I did in foundry? Thanks.
Welcome to Forgehub Tanks. Sandbox is legitimately has the same forging aspect to Foundry. Besides the objects being quite different interlocking is not a problem. Just like in Foundry if you were to interlock two boxes together it provides a nice smooth purpose, Sandbox's boxes are ultimately the same to Foundry's. Simply interlocking Sandbox's boxes can do the job but it isn't as bad as Foundry's gap in between. Well, now Tanks you should be more understanding of your question about Sandbox's boxes. If there is anything that you are still confused or curious about whether it's anything in general or just anything about Forgehub please feel free to contact me.
Hey, welcome to Forgehub. I am really excited to hear the amount of time you have spent forging on foundry and the fact that you strive to be the best at the game. If you have any questions regarding forging or well forgehub in general, you can PM me and Ill do my best to help you out.
Ha, thanks for the warm welcome guys. I'm sure I'll be pulling in all the help I can get once I get started on my Ascension remake.
