Forge-Fights are basically a forge-off between two different forgers who have a dispute to settle between them. I got the idea for this when graphics and arts brought in sig battles. I then thought, why can't this same concept be done with maps.

If enough people like this concept it will be launched. There would be a main Forger ladder as well as just anybody who posts in this thread will be able to host one between just them two. Perfect for settling differences or just having fun seeing who the better forger is.

What are the advantages in doing this? First, you get to have fun forging your maps. Also It is a great for forgers who have a competitive side! Thirdly, you get your maps judged, which would give you great feedback on what you should improve on and what not.

If you think this is a good idea or has some potential then post here and I might just decide to set it up.

Only problem is that for forgers who know what their doing, it takes a month or more to get the idea, do a design, tweak a design and try it in a beta, then build everything perfectly, then test and tweak, spawns, weapons, and so on.

Maybe a better idea is a contest to build something specific in a given amount of time.

Maybe. I was thinking more of just giving a month. Would that be too long. And by building something in a particular set of time do you mean like build a pyramid in 1 1/2 weeks.

My friends and I have forge battles but they work differently. We all go into forge together on a canvas map and are each given 15 minutes to build a base in our own section of the map. Then we place the spawns, designing them so that we'll each spawn and respawn in our own base. Then we take it to custom games and play slayer on it, and whoever wins that game wins the contest. It's a lot of fun, and sometimes the bases turn out really cool.

When we play on Foundry we each build in a different corner, and on sandbox we each build on a different level (ie Skybubble, crypt) and then spawn two-way teleporters that connect all three levels.

This way the rules of the contest are much more defined, the contest is much more social, and it is much more fun.

I think what would be cool is giving each player half the map to work with and half the items (Ie: you can only use 20 double walls, 20 block huge, 15 block talls, but you can use any combination of items as long as you use no more than half) and give each player half the budget. Then let them design a base seperately and have them build together, then the best base design would be the winner.

Could create some really awesome assymetric maps.
