Intersection Created by Lintendo 64 Gametypes supported: Slayer, CTF, King of the Hill Recommended players: 8-14 UPDATE: Video of gameplay can be downloaded here UPDATE: I have fixed the back area wall it is now completely blocked off. I've added more cover, and another Jeep. Added a few fusion cores here and there. Intersection is a Foundry map that features 4 buildings. I was inspired to create an urban type setting, initially something like Turf. However room was a problem. Therefore I went with the 4 building idea. The map initially started out as a complete test, and I planned to trash the idea, due to the difficulty to create buildings that were aesthetically pleasing too. But after a while of adjusting and clipping objects the buildings turned out pretty good. Between the four buildings is a 4-way intersection that is the center of combat. The buildings shouldn't be ignored though as they provide significant view of the combat zones. CTF is supported, but being an asymmetrical map, I am unsure of the balance or gameplay on it. I hope you enjoy it and find it a unique "vertical-based" map! ____________________________________________________ Pictures: Tower A on the left and Camo Tower on the right Tower B on the left and Overshield Tower on the right View down one street And a view down the other A view inside Tower A, other towers are similar, but vary slightly The intersection provides space for long range and close range combat There is a lone warthog for those good enough to maneuver the streets The second floor provides a significant height advantage! Use it! But be wary of a well-placed gravlift Or snipers in other towers! The Overshield tower is also home to the Rocket Launcher! Download Intersection
this map seems like it would really reward you for being the more skilled player and as such I am downloading
Very nice post. I'll check this out and hopefully get back to you. Ok, I got a chance to fly through this map in Forge. The layout looks really fun. Sure, it's just four buildings, but there seem to be a lot of different ways that players can encounter each other. That's what make good gameplay. If you don't know about the interlocking technique, check out our Forging 101 section. That technique would really make this map look a lot better. It's too easy to get out of the play area. A player might climb to the top of a building and jump off onto those boxes, and then jump down behind the play area, without knowing that there is no way back in. The easiest way to fix this, since you have no budget left, would be to move one of those crates that you have stacked up on the side of the level. If you put a crate back there, any stuck player can jump on it to get back into the play area. Overall, this looks like a fun map. Nice job.
Sweet map, I'm definitely gonna give this a go . EDIT: I've had a chance to run through the map now and I have a couple of things I'd like to comment on. First off your map could benefit from the Interlocking technique. Although it looks good, it could look even better if you Interlock items. And unfortunately I have to agree with Furious D 18, It's far to easy to get out off the map. You don't even have to grenadejump. With a couple of tweaks Intersection can become a really good map, as it is now it's a good one.
Looks and sounds interesting enough... but being at work I have little time to check out your map. You seem to have just recently discovered Forge Hub. So I would just like to wish you a warm welcome. Despite my thoughts on "The Great Wall"... anyways, welcome to Forge Hub and I hope you enjoy your stay. I'll get back to you on the map. I have little time on my hands nowadays, and have to make time to help the community and do my own guilder stuff... but I'll get around to this map. Don't you worry ...
unfortunately I learned about the interlocking technique a little late into this maps development and trying to utilize it now would mean dismantling the whole map, so I would rather just re-make it some time else. Getting out of the map is a problem, there isn't much else I can do however, since I'm out of budget and attempting to create a wall high enough would waste way too much budget. I decided when making this map that if someone wants to jump out of the map, that is their problem. Now they're stuck and they'll lose the match, or they'll just be easy pickings for other players. During testing however I noticed most people just ignored the blocked off side the whole time, even when i had a "door" to let people in and out.
I will try to update the map with a new wall by using that infinite budget trick, I will update the link if/when I do
Looks VERY proffesional just like the others have said. In all honesty this should replace the standard Foundry map because this one is alot more fun to play on...
Re: Intersection (Fixed) Lintendo we should have an official Forging 101 on the Unlimited Money Glitch tonight. Once your map is updated let me know, and I will front page it. :squirrel_hug:
Re: Intersection (Fixed) Already took advantage of the unlimited money! All you guys need to figure out is how to break the quota on items, then we're set! Map and link are all updated, thanks
