Right, so while I'm not new to Reach or Forge, I am new here and haven't done much with Forge in any real serious sense (made a couple maps and played around with it, mostly). In any case, I decided to try and make an Invasion map since I found the gametype to be pretty fun. Here's the rundown for anyone who would like to give it a try and maybe help me improve it (or just rip it to shreds, I guess... <.<): ^^^ That's the base that the Elites are ultimately attacking. As the map description explains, it contains valuable data within its stores that the Covenant want, and the Spartans have to protect. Getting to it is the tricky part for the Elites. The Attackers start out by the Beach area outside the tunnel that leads from the Coastline area in Forge World into the Canyon, and have to get passed a large shield door blocking passage through the tunnel. They do this by capturing one of the two power conduit territories outside the shield to disable it. Attacker Initial and Phase 1 Respawns: #1-3 = Initial Spawns A, B = Respawns Defender Initial and Phase 1 Respawns: #1-3 = Initial Spawns A, B = Respawns Phase 1 Objectives: A, B = Objectives Once the shield is down, the Attackers have to make their way through the tunnel to reach the base built along the cliffs on the other side. To aid in this, they are given two Ghosts, a Revenant, and a Wraith, as well as a new set of respawns and additional weapons just outside the gate. As the Attackers approach the base, the Defenders are given additional weapons to help fend off the attacking vehicles, but no vehicles of their own (this is partly because a Warthog is of little use in the cramped area in front of the base, but also to prevent the Defenders from simply driving it down to the Beach and possibly hording the Attackers vehicles themselves). At the base, the Attackers again find two territories, one of which they need to control in order to gain access to the Data Core. Attacker Phase 2+ Respawns: #1-3 = Respawns Defender Phase 2+ Respawns and Phase 2 Objectives: #1-2 = Respawns A, B = Objectives Once the Attackers control one of the two territories, two gravity lifts are switched on on the second floor of the base that lead up to where the Data Core is being stored. The Attackers are also given an additional forward Respawn to help keep the pressure on. Once the Attackers manage to take the Data Core, they must escape with it to their waiting evac zone at the bottom of the hill. Attacker Phase 3 Respawn: #1 = Respawn Gravity Lifts and Phase 3 Objective A (Data Core): #1-2 = Grav Lifts A = Objective Phase 3 Objective B (Evac Zone): A = Objective Well, that's the way the map is designed to play. As you might have guessed, I have not had the chance to test it out and make balancing tweaks (or more substantial changes, if needed) or anything, but I guess that's why I'm posting it here and hoping for some feedback. Anyway, if you think it looks interesting, give it a try with a group of friends or something (and maybe invite me along if I'm available) and let me know what you think of it. Maybe upload games played on it to your File Shares and direct me to them as well if you'd like (no better way to see if a map needs work than to actually see how it plays). As noted, this is my first Invasion Map attempt, and I'm relatively inexperienced with making anything serious in Forge, so I won't be surprised if it needs work (or worse), but hey, I gave it a go. Either way, happy Forging. ^_^
