Map Name Origin: Latin for "Above"

My second official competitive map in Reach is here! Infernus is a very small base symmetrical map which focuses on top and bottom control. Lifts leading to the top on both sides help the flow of the map and gameplay as well.

Gametypes that work well: Headhunter, KOTH, CK, Oddball, TS.

The layout is pretty simple to get down. Check out my crappy drawing above for a quick tour lol. Basically you have two starting bases and then you can either go straight across to top mid or head to bottom mid OR go through the Concussion rifle room (dance floor) and go from there. The shotgun that is on the map can be very dominating if used right, and believe it or not the Sniper can also. I don't want to type a huge paper on this map so I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking.

Although this map can support 8 players, it is RECOMMENDED that you play with a maximum of 6

    Weapons:
    DMRs x9
    Frag Grenade x2
    Plasma Grenades x2
    Plasma Pistol x2
    Plasma Repeater x1
    Needler x2
    Sniper Rifle x1
    Shotgun x1
    Concussion Rifle x1
    Health Station x4

No comments yet? a lot of people seem to view, but no one ever comments. Well, I'll be the first to say that this map looks sick. the layout is beautiful and the aesthetics look great. But, could you put an overview of the map? that would help. Also, rock gardens are getting a bit old, but it seems you have made this one look a bit different with the fancy column design. The red light is kinda an eye sore, in my opinion, but all around this map looks fantastic. Good work.

Yeah thanks for commenting! Yup I am currently working on an overview/layout drawing of the map. It's coming. I'm also working on a video as well.

    Edited by merge:

As for the red light topic, there is also a blue light at the other base which you will see in the video when it comes out. It didn't cause any screen lag and thats the only thing I was worried about. It helps to distinguish the bases.

Hmm, this looks so familiar...weird :) this map is fun to play on, and I think I liked FFA gametypes on here the most. It was sweet seein you add/expand the map everytime we played it. Also, if you need any cool videos of someone playing, I think I know a guy or two. Lol keep it up Ticky!

Ah, glad to see this is finally released. It's evolved a lot since I started testing with you, and it's good to see it all come to fruition. The weapon layout is much better now, and I think extending the map to one of the sides was a good idea, it was a little cramped before. I just hope you managed to fix the spawning problems we were all having a week ago! :p

Wow, I'm not sure how I missed this...

I definitely enjoyed testing this map and it was good to see you make such a big leap in quality from Clutch to this map. Vallation is even better. Keep it up man!

So this is the infamous infernus map I hear you blather on about. I kid, It looks really good man! I like the red light (as you can probably tell from my latest map) The last shot with the pillars is awesome! I really want to play this, so invite me if I'm on and you're doing some custom games!

Haha ok will do. But right now I am super pumped about my newest map, Vallation. I have been playing a decent amount of customs on it and it works very well. Especially for One Flag and 3-plot. If your on, I will definitely invite you.

Good to see you got the video up and working. This map was always a blast to play (especially with smaller parties, 2v2 preferably). The map really shined with Slayer and FFA Oddball wasn't bad either, although there were a few too many people. This map is great, but I'm already looking forward to your newer projects even more.
