I've had a slight preview for this before, but it has gone through some distinct developmental transformations. Not only that, but I wasn't intending on releasing it anytime soon in my last preview. Now, the only thing that stands between this map and release is perhaps a couple more testing sessions, and the release of the prequel to this map.

I am, however, hesitant about putting up this video. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I work hard to implement new features into each of my infection maps. This video shows all of those features, which can easily be duplicated in another map which would be released before this.

While it may seem slightly paranoid of me, I do ask that if you want to incorporate one of the features in this map in one of your own, please wait for this to be posted first.

So what are those features? They may seem trivial but they are:

    • The warthog detonation as the survivors reach the street.
    • The required sprinting for the rooftop jump.
    • The "floating" falcon as an evacuation.
    • A fireplace with sandbags and a red light.
I'm know for a fact that the last one has been done, but it is rarely used, and I'm sure the penultimate aspect was probably done as well. Those two (as well as the use of ramp stunts as roads) may have been done prior to this preview, but I'm pretty sure they were new when this map was designed. The first two however are the ones that I haven't seen anywhere else, and therefore have been most secretive of those two.

    About the Map
This is a linear journey map that takes place in a relatively abandoned city. Survivors start in a basement. Once making their way to the street they must wait for the automated bar doors to open. Sprinting across the rooftops, they can then enter Ortega's and make their way to Chez Shea. That evac is destroyed, so they're forced to move to the platform behind the club to reach the final evacuation point.

And now, for the video. I'll be using the same one on the map post, so don't worry about expecting a new one there.

And, admittedly, it does look as if the survivors are overpowered, but that's because in the video I followed a particular set of people who made it to the end, without really focusing on those who died.

This seems like a really cool map and I love all the details you added. The exploding warthog is a great effect that really adds to the mood. I also caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a pole in the strip club, nice touch!

The only thing that seemed off was the use of coliseum windows for the floor of one part of the map. It seemed a little off and having the huge rock cliffs didnt really seem to fit in with the night life vide and city feel you were going for.

Great map and I love where this is going

As it's set the 'hog can't kill anyone except for an infected waiting in that alleyway. However, there is an attack point right above that, so while the humans are distracted by the flashy lights, the infected drop down and eat 'em up. And yeah, the pole was actually a reference to one of my maps in H3. Even better, is that if the infected want to hide anywhere in the club, that's the most likely area. Stripper zombies > Survivors.

Unfortunately given the budget those are the only objects I can use. It was intended to look like an addition to the club, where construction recently begun as they hollowed out the area for construction. That area will have a slight alteration, and that's the addition of capture plates to hide the zombie spawn.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I'm not gonna' lie, that's pretty epic. And strangely fitting. And terrifying.

Though isn't a poltergeist more of a ghost than a zombie..? Just sayin'.

Anyway, I did mean to ask for an opinion of people who read this. As it stands, the holdout door can be opened with a sword, but I don't have money for a shield door. So, I thought I'd place flag stands behind each crate. Would it negatively affect your (I say that in a general sense) opinion of the map to see random floating pieces of metal? I ask because I know that realism is key in these map styles.
