Hello fellow forgers, I am here today in search of help with the gametype Race. I've created a map in forge, I've placed mongooses at the start, I've placed one respawn point beside each of the mongooses. I've placed 23 "Capture Plates" around the map, and have set their spawn sequences accordingly with how I would like the race to play out. I've set the spawn points to "Game Type Label: Race", but the mongooses are set to No Label. What I need help with: My capture plates do not work as checkpoints, instead, the first capture plate is a checkpoint, it also acts as the ONLY checkpoint, causing the game to end when it is captured. As for my mongooses spawning, only one mongoose spawns at a time, instead of all of them being there from the start of the game. I've thought about using the "Race Spawn" setting for the label type on the respawn points, but I want my mongooses to be colored, could I set the mongoose itself to be a Race_Spawn, and having it keep the color and placement on the map? [edit] Another thing I need help with is customizing the gametype itself: I cannot change the score from the default 500, also, is there a way to disable the penalty for "Being on foot too long"? Some of my questions may be silly, or plain out stupid, but I assure you I mean well, and I've done some searching and tinkering before even bothering to post. Your help is greatly appreciated, and I'd like to thank you in advance.
when you use the Race gametype, players automatically spawn on a mongoose, and also, if they fall off their mongoose and wait 10 seconds, they will appear on another one. you need to set the markers to be Race_Flag, then the sequence should work.
Hill markers From what i can tell your problem is that your using capture points instead of hill markers... try that and remember the spawn sequence needs to start at 0 and the game speifc tag (or whatever its called) needs to be RACE_FLAG
