On what grounds, name one note worthy feature on this map. It seem to me to be good, but average, there is nothing outstanding in the aesthetics or the gameplay. It seems there is a slite bias toward frequenters.
I disagree. Impound has the most unique map design I have even seen in a map, as well as solid aesthetics. Adding to that is the varied terrain which is great to put this map apart from so many others. Considering this map is better than 98% of all the maps I have ever played on, it needs some special recognition.
To Spartanchief34: Since featuring creative works is more subjective than objective there will always be some choices that people make that will be looked upon as ill by the community, either in general or by a minority. If this map was a donut floating in the sky and had more flashies than a weekend tour of Bourbon street, THEN I would agree it shouldn't be featured. Halo Reach has been out for 2 months. This site will get plenty of features in that you will deem worthy.
No one makes the standards for features, but the staff. The majority voted yes on this one. Simple as that. When you are staff on a site, you can decided what gets featured. Please remember what the word means.
You're a liar. You have not played Impound so you can't declare that there's nothing outstanding about the gameplay. Anyone who clicks your gamertag and looks at the pathetic 15 games in your custom game history can see that. As far as feature bias goes, the only significant bias is the attention bias. A map that plays extraordinarily well but goes unnoticed on the forum will not be featured because staff aren't likely to download it or play it. A map that plays extraordinarily well, like Impound, that gets attention will be more likely to be featured. Frequent posters and people with colored names get more attention naturally, that's a simple fact. A map that plays poorly but gets a lot of attention isn't going to get featured either, but it may win a Forge Hub Favorites vote.
I agree and disagree. Gameplay is very soild, but although the trees are getting a bit overused, it really is something that map creators can do to distinguish thier maps from others(granted they use a different set of trees.) Would you rather see unique and different map like this and vanilla, where you can feel as though you are no longer on forgeworld, or would you like to see floating maps that all look almost exactly the same as each other, or maps in the quarry. Impound, although a similar idea to maps such as Embassy and Vanilla, has entirely different gameplay. In fact, the only thing that is the same is that there are trees in the map. I do not think a map should ever be looked down upon because it has trees in it. Impound was definitely worthy of the feature.
