okay I need a texture that can match this image and it needs to forerunner-esk use the Valhalla bases for reference. thanks in advance to any and all who help credit will be given.
I had to go get the image sorry it's there now as for what I want done that is there but mostly I want a texture that is kinda forerunner-ish and fits that blue part of the image
do you still want the checkered bit in the middle? If I'm not mistaken what you want is the purple outlined object with a forerunner style background, yes?
okay that purple objec is a model unwrapped so the texture needs to follow it and the checkered part is just the standard image size for the program so no need to match that. here's the base not flattened
if you unfold the second one it becomes the first one but the first one the second is there for reference on how the texture will end up positioned.
I think he wants a texture for his object, not a background. He wants an image he can use on his object so it doesn't look like one color. He has this: He wants it to look like this: He unwrapped it to the first image so you can make this to apply to the first image I posted. Is that right? Or do you just want a background for the object to sit on?
um yes but it has to follow the shape of the purple thing other wise it looks all weird. I believe the "proper" term is bitmap.
Yes, bitmap is the proper term. And yes, I know what I posted won't work for him, it's just an example.
bitmap texture it's all the same to modelers but textures those are the people who care about specifics.
Oh, sorry to waste your time then. I havent really done that kind of thing before, and I dont have any decent stock pictures to aid me with texture.
It something really difficult to do to just make a texture from scratch. As I told you before hellclown, I would suggest asking RavNCroFt. He is actually a graphic designer for his job so he may be able to help. For the people that just do gfxs for fun, it's not realistic.
Sorry, I'm not really the right guy to ask about skinning 3D models. I did some modeling back in the day, but I never really applied textures to them. Besides, there's a whole different process that comes with skinning that I'm just not very familiar with. However, if you're interested, I could certainly give you some suggestions for quick ways to create metallic-looking textures.
