Give I Stand Alone by Jackyl a listen it's a pretty badass song, none of the heavy metal stuff. Or for a good layed back song, try out Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf. You might have to cut off the very begininng but it's a great song.

If you want laid back and calm, go for More than a Feeling by Boston... unless its not that sort of thing. Seems the examples aren't that laid back
