I have had an Xbox 360 since it came out. Thats more than 3 years, and in that time i have been through 3 Xbox's, and now this one has decided it doesn't want to work now. I was playing for literally 25 minutes on Halo, then i turned it off. I come back a while later to find the 3 red lights! I don't know what i should do. I think the warrenty has ran out, i might just stay without it for a while. Microsoft really don't have a clue with modern hardware.
This link will help you get rid off it I hope. 3 Red Rings?? READ THIS! - AVS Forum p.s im not trying to spam.
Unlucky mate, 'Tis a bummer. Try to get an Elite for your next 360, they supposedly have some fixes that lesser versions do not.
I unplugged everything, left it for a night. This morning it worked fine, then i turned it off and back on, and the RROD is back. Im going to leave it off until tonight, and see if i can get online for the FnF.
What about teh valiant ducks in the FNF?!?!??! well, i guess me and shoruka get to play the entire time, but it is still a harsh loss for our valiant order...
Wow that sucks, my box broke a couple months ago, wasn't RRoD though, It was video failure. I had no warranty, I rang them anyways and was like "Rawr, I already payed to get it fixed at the start of the year, and now its broken AGAIN" They fixed it free of charge and I got it back 2 weeks later ^__^
Happened to me 2 Matty. If you wanna actually play your 360 for a few hours longer then do the towel trick. But, it will only postpone the inevitable doom of the 360. Look it up on youtube like I did. Either that or send into Microsoft like I just did Wednesday.
Towel trick worked, im going to keep doing it till after next week, then i might send it away. If its out of warrenty, i'll use it as a paper weight.
ive had to send mine in twice.. never once asked about a warranty. i believe microsoft extended all the warranties by like.. 3 years or something, so it shouldnt be an issue.
poor matty, i feel like im on thin ice, lots of people hav had this but i hav not, and its been a while so should i b worried, but atleast it happens to the best of em,
Welcome to the club. I have an elite, and I've had it for just over a year, but I got the RROD on Friday and haven't been able to play it since. I haven't done the towel trick have left it for 24 hours then tried it. But no luck. Sending it on to MS as soon as I can.
buy a new xbox or send it in for repairs and this time buy the extended warenty. ps that means longer time. hey man that really sucks dude
I actually had the RROD, and I was playing and suddenly the tv made this loud thunk noise, and shut off, and the RROD came up on the 360. I didnt know what to do, so I just shut off the 360 and returned it on, and what do you know, it worked. (Although I didnt play it for like a day to make sure it could cool down.) And it is perfectly fine. If anyone knows, Id like to know what happened too.
