Hydrophobia - Download Here This is my first Reach map and I decided to make it off in the little bay near the red side of Hemorrhage. I do realize that there are some maps already named Hydrophobia and I thought I was being creative at the time but apparently not. This map is not symmetrical at all but I tried to make weapon layouts as symmetrical as I could. If you couldn't guess from the name it does include water. The bottom floor of the map is resting in the water but the paths on the walls of the map do let you get out of the water. While in the water, you are not completely submerged but you are close to being all the way under. This will mess with grenade throws because the water will stop the grenade from bouncing much. Its made only for slayer because I was just getting used to Forge in Reach so I didn't know too much about the labels that are required. Please leave whatever feedback you can give even if its harsh. Now on to the pictures.... This is the overview. This is Red Base near the shore. This is Blue Base on the Ocean. This is Orange Side. This is Green Side.
I like where you've chosen to work here, and there's some creative-looking use of restrictive building blocks, nice job. All queued up. And don't panic about names. There's almost a Rule 34 of custom map names: if it's a coherent sequence of letters, there's a map named it. Edit: After a Forge-through, it looks even cooler. There's loads of very interesting use of the built in terrain in that area, such as having the very edge of the gulch a playable area, and an excellent fallback spawn. My two recommended changes would be 1. To set the floating weapons as having Normal physics, with Fixed physics they float in place after being dropped, and can't be picked up again but get in the way. And 2. To add more clear indicators around the Blue base of where the floor ends and the ocean starts. Something like a couple of Struts along the edge, but it's up to you if it's necessary.
Wow, that's it, I can't release mine. I gotta rename and re-do it now lol. You did a nice job on this though, it's a lot different from my own, and probably better for team games.
