YouTube - Husky FlythroughHusky is a (mostly) symmetrical, large map, designed for objective gametypes such as Capture The Flag or Assault. Husky has support for non-heavy vehicles, with each side starting with both a mongoose and a warthog. The underpart of the map includes a winding pathway for said vehicles to maneuver around. The middle base contains a winding series of catwalks, leading up to two gravity lifts, and a sniper rifle. Neutral Objectives also spawn in this area. Both teams have very basic bases, in order to avoid confusion from an overly complex and confusing design. Two entrances, one window, and the flag in front of the base. The entrances to the high catwalks have a teleporter designed to avoid vehicles from entering the upper catwalks. They will transport the mongoose in front of the base window closest. (Which is only about 50 feet behind them.) Oh, and I don't like shotguns, so I made the shotgun spawn on fusion coils. Have fun picking it up. You can check out the rest of the layout, and the really nifty gravity lifts, in the Bungie Pro rendering on the top of the page. The creation of Husky was a huge 3 month process that just started with about 3 or 4 coliseum walls lined up next to each other, floating in the middle of the ocean. What eventually sprouted out of these walls is something I'm extremely proud of. Not bad for my very first Forge map in either Halo, eh? Oh, and bsangel, Community Manager of 343 Industries, thinks it's awesome. With a recommendation like that, why not download Husky? The map does not support Race, Rally, Invasion, Invasion Slayer or Safe Havens. A unique wall will spawn within the second floor of the middle base, blocking off the man cannon main entrance. This is due to the fact that the bomb spawns right that room. The wall avoids quick cannon shots to the middle catwalk with a bomb. Here's a few extra screenshots: And my personal favorite: The reason Husky is (mostly) symmetrical is due to the fact that Blue Team has a unique curve in their pathway to the middle of the center catwalk. This is the closest thing I can to to compensate for when using identical buildings on each side for traveling on the middle catwalks. You'll see what I mean in the video. Note: The lag seen in the video does not appear in actual gameplay. It is there due to all the additional Forge-exclusive objects that are spawned (i.e. spawn points, hill markers, etc.) The map performs perfectly fine outside of Forge.
This is definitely a very... unique map I should say. That's the best way I could describe it with all of it's features that ties together with it's marvelous gameplay capability. I personally think the map has it's special touches here and there with some good coverage in the mix while there are tons of explosions in the backgorund. I would recommend this to be download... I know I am.
