After you have built a nice track you may want to put in objectives and racing spawn points since the map won't work on the Race gametype without them. This quick guide will tell you the basics to getting your race track working.

First you need to go to the forge lobby and change the forge gametype from basic editting to 'Race'. This will allow you to change race related settings in game. (This works similarlly for all other gametypes.)

Now you can click X on any object, go to 'Advanced' and then change 'Game Type Label' to either 'Race', 'Race_Spawn' or 'Race_Flag'.

'Race' means that object will only appear in Race gametype varients.

'Race_Spawn' is the place where you spawn on your mongoose at the start of the game. Use this on spawn points and starting points. You do not need to place mongooses in forge as you automitically spawn on one in Race.

'Race_Flag' is the objectives. Use 'Hill Markers' for this (they aren't just for KOTH but are the basic objective used for all gametypes).

The 'Spawn Sequence' number is the stage at which the objective appears. For example after you go through an objective with '1', the objective with '2' will appear. By giving 2 hill markers the same numbers allows for two objectives to appear at once which could be good for some interesting alternate routes. After you take one of the two objectives both will disappear and go to the next in the sequence. The last marker in the sequence will be the lap finish line.

Remember that multiple objectives are the future. They solve the double point problem, make people actually do a whole lap, show you where to race and give you a place to respawn. So make sure to include quite a few in your tracks.

I have not tested this but in theory any object can be an objective. It may be difficult to drive through a solid object though so hill markers are best.
