They record it (using either a capture card or something like that, I just use my VCR ), transfer it onto their computer, and then edit it together. It's at this editing stage where they put in effects such as speeding up/slowing down/stoppiing the video. Window Movie Maker is a great program to learn basic video editing on, and chances are it's already installed on your computer (unless you have a Mac, and in that case you could use iMovie). And no, you can't "Fast Forward" or slow down or pause while recording something ~Jakester1024
