Do you spend your time on one project until it's done, or do you hop between two? Or perhaps you start several maps and work on them little by little?

I tend to spend 3-5 days on a map before deciding to start another one or work on a previous design. So i'd bounce between two at any given point, working on one until i get stumped.

I'll go ham getting layouts and art done, but actual "work" gets put off for as long as I can. I'll try to get myself literally fiending to finish a certain map before working the last stretch of piece management, cleaning, etc. This helps me stay focused on what I want to do as well as making the less than glorious part of forging more tolerable.

I currently have 7 unfinished maps for reference

For the longest time, I continued working on two maps until I finally decided to start new projects. Currently I'm working on 3 other maps but I'm mainly focusing on one of them because the other two require a lot of scripting and I'm not looking forward to that...

I only work on one map at a time. I spend about 2 days designing a map and getting it playable, then decide whether it's worth the time to add art after playtesting. From there, I spend up to a week adding art and playtesting before posting. I rarely update my maps because I've moved on to the next project. I'd like to get better at taking my time with art.

I often just do one simultaneously, but the development overlaps. Meaning, two can be started or well underway, but I will only be focussed on one at a time.

I work on all the maps and drop them before I finish them.

I usually work on about 10-15 at a time. More if you count planing design stages. I tend to want a blocked out designs within an hour and then like to test and iterate many at the same time. Keeps things fresh and helps me stick to the core deign elements that I want in those specific maps as opposed to wanting to experiment and break away from the original concept.

I usually finish a layout, do a basic art-up then give up cause its not up to par. On the off chance I actually like one of my art-ups, I usually finish it, then never place spawns/weapons/gameplay stuff. I really need to get off my ass and finish my maps lol.

Just one. Too many ideas pop in my head whithin the process and then I'm eager to see if it works or if I can build it. I do always forge way different stuff then I've planned on doing, but that's part of the fun. So there are 'projects' on the side but I keep it that way.

Just one at a time. I have a lot of Halo related interests. Next to playing online, Forging a map is by far the least time consuming. Unfortunately that means it gets a lower priority for me. So I try to get the most out of one map.

haha... after I "blaze" it up, I tend to only be able to work on exactly 4/20ths of a map at a time :D

It's actually not too much if you think about it considering I don't post anything. So maps that I've been working on since the early days, I'm still iterating, testing and cleaning up. I also collaborate with people in the community on art in most cases. Therefor even after I'm technically done with blockout testing, I'm finding it a good home, waiting on art and testing it plenty more during and after the art process.

It helps that I don't really get forgers block. I nitpick every detail to hell but for the most part, i have a plan and I stick to it and if I come up with an idea that changes my vision during the building process, I put that aside and base my next design around that mechanic, playstyle or idea. Also, i scrap or restart about 50% of every project I work on.

Edit: I will add that I am forging, building for Installation 01, Diabotical and doing some concepts for games that I hope to work on in the future. That all adds up quick.

I sincerely hope Installation 01 doesn't end up like another AM2R. Good luck!

Don't want to get off topic though I want to say thank you and I'm doing my best as well as the rest of the team. So far so good, it just might take awhile. I can't even explain how much stuff everyone finishes up something and then has to go back in and redo it to make sure it hits exactly what everyone on the team wants and there is a decent amount of different point or views. That being said, I hope so too!
