How is a map featured?

What i'm asking is how does the staff or whoever choose a map to be featured and will it stay that way in Reach? This link gives a okay brief description, but i want to know in depth how a map is chosen. If there is already a thread about how these are chosen then post a link.

Before anyone one says "All you want is a featured map." I'm really wondering what ruins a map and what makes it the best. I'm sure this would be helpful to some people.

A map that get Featured has to show near perfection in Gameplay, Aesthetics, style, Creativity, Design and Originality.

The feature System will stay the same for Reach, It will be a bit harder to decide what maps deserves a feature but it will based on the same things. Everyone will have different opinions about the maps

It's hard for us to say because we all have different opinions and different view points on what makes a map good. That's not to say their are extremes to each of us, but rather we all have a certain standard a map has to reach. Best advice is be yourself when making your map and if it shines through to meet our eyes, then you may have a feature.

    ^ Great advice.

If you want a rough idea of what people look for in a great map, or things to think about, then the Review Hub Map Rating Criteria are a useful resource. The Review Hub isn't part of the feature process, but maps their members rate highly tend to be a pretty strong benchmark.
