    Description:
    hoLe down is a medium sized (for Foundry) symmetrical map. It includes to working doors, which are operated by taking a custom powerup. If you want to learn how opening doors work, visit this bungie.net thread. Red and Blue team start out on opposite sides of the map.

    The teams use the doors to go into the hole, or they can go around the hole.

    Let me explain a little something about object respawn timers in Halo 3. The time that is set on the object for it to respawn, is the time it will take for it to respawn. However, other factors tie into that. The fact that the run time maximum on the dumpsters is 2, the number on the map, and the run time minimum is 2, it will take a lot of influence to get them to respawn that quickly. Therefore, after about 30 seconds it will respawn when the custom powerup does. Another factor that influences this is the fact that Halo 3 does not "like" to respawn objects when players are starring into them. Therefore, people who are AFK can play a big influence, because they are almost always looking at the doors. With all this said, don't make posts saying that the doors don't close accurately. I know that!

    Notes About Map:
    • I didn't spend much time placing the walls around the outside of the map, and when I make an update, it will be sure to fix them up.
    • If you do not download the supplied game variant, make sure that you set the player gravity to 150%.
    • By default, the game variant does not give anything special for the custom powerups used to operate the door. You can add those if you want (just don't put gravity below 150%)
    • For now, consider this a prototype of the v.2 map, which has features mentioned in green below
    hoLe down v2.1:



    hoLe down v2.1 will include more features, more cover, and straightened walls. One of these features will be the BR perch that is usable in anything assymetric (like one bomb or one flag). Another feature is that you will be able to play Team Slayer, Assault, CTF, Oddball, KOTH, and FFA Slayer.
    • No Infection, Juggernaut, or Vip support included (They will still run, but are not correctly supported)
    • A new update to v2.1 will be started if more suggestions are given once it is posted
    • It will be more orgasmic (hopefully)

    Even though it is pretty open, it doesn't matter because when you run around the sides of the hole, you won't get killed. I can't really give anymore pictures, these pretty much cover the hole map, and I provided a layout that shows the weapons anyways.

    interesting i like some of the interlocking and the layout but some things need to be straightened out and like other people its a little open but ill still dl to check it out

    Yah, I know that the walls need to be straightened out a bit, and I'll add some more interlocking. Again, I have tested this map plenty, and even though it is open, it doesn't really hurt gameplay. I actually like maps when they are more open, it makes the game go faster and more intense, not hardcore, but intense

    i dont know what your planning doing with a shottie or a sword with such an large open map, im looking for more cover in v2 but untill then 3/5

    Ok guys, how would I make more cover for this map if you really want it, i have used up ever single wall and box, do you suggest me adding crates to the map?

    shottie and swords are usefull no matter size or openness

    its a simple yet good idea, it looks nicely interlooked but some walls could b straightened out, if u add something more interesting in the middle or more cover it would complete this map, ur post is nicely done and i like ur overview with the weapon placement.

    this map looks pretty interesting and exciting

    As you have said, I would fix up the walls cause I gareentee people won't download this cause they see that one picture

    The switch looks interesting and could affect gameplay for the better

    Perhaps you could pay a visit to h3artificers.com and check out some of the switches posted there

    ok, i just played the map it plays very well, eecept i put a barrier on the walkways cuase my brother kept camping with the needler blowing us aal up =P

    Looks really small, but chaotic and fun. The map is also perfectly suited for the battle rifle, and maybe put some frags but the brute shot, for the BR frag

    This looks okay, but I really think the outer hallways definitely need cover. At least a few window panels at the end of each hallway.
