Hey Forge Hub! My username and gamertag is L337 Commando, and yes I thank the Microsoft gods for being able to nab such a sexy gamertag. My real name is Mike (and my last name is too hard to pronounce anyway), so just call me "Mike" or "Commando". By the way, my birthday is on September 14. Yes. As in Reach. I kid you not. I guess I should thank the Bungie gods too. Like a lot of other people, I was really excited to see what creative maps I could create in Forge, especially on Foundry and Sandbox, but unfortunately I never had the patience or skill to use Forge as masterfully as a lot of Forge Hub members can, and none of my friends played Halo 3 enough to want to playtest and help me with my maps. Sad face. But now that Forge World is coming around, I'm super excited to be able to see what I can create with such a plethora of objects and a vast expanse of good old Halo geography! Now that I've joined, I'm really looking for a group of friends who will play Halo Reach enough to test my maps, having fun in Custom Games, and also have a great time in Campaign, Firefight, and Matchmaking (even though I'm not a very competitive person...because I suck. lol Well I'm not THAT bad.) I'm pretty much a troglodyte, but other than video games I enjoy watching films (omg Inception is my favorite movie), dreaming of becoming a game designer and writer, and hanging out with friends. Even during the school year, I'll visit Forge Hub once a day at least. I love making new friends, so send my an invite on Forge Hub and Xbox LIVE if you love making and testing maps. In the near future, aside from Halo Reach, I'll be playing Left 4 Dead, Brink, Red Dead Redemption, and getting lost in Fallout New Vegas. I'm a high school student and live in New York. And in the interest of the Global Conspiracy Corporation not finding out any more, that is all I'll say. lol Nah, I'm a pretty normal guy who likes video games and coming up with cool ideas. If you're not a total d-bag, we'll get along very nicely. I hate pictures, so sorry if all you see is a picture of the Fallout Pipboy. Well uh, that about wraps it up. Once Halo Reach comes out, I'll really start churning out some cool maps, and it'd be extra awesome if I find some friends on Forge Hub who love to create, test, and play custom games on Forged Maps. Also, if you are a cooperative person who enjoys working as a team in Campaign, Firefight, and Matchmaking, that's an epic bonus. I look forward to making new friends and awesome maps! Now I have a quick question (sorry for being a forum noob): How do I embed pictures and videos into a forum post? That's really my only issue, since I'm not extremely savvy with forum tools and Bungie.net, so a simple tutorial would be fantastic. Thanks for reading and thanks for the help if you do reply!
If the picture is on a website, click and hold the picture then drag it up to the top bar. It should be the only place that can place interacted with when holding down the mouse button. If done properly, it will take you to a page with nothing but the image on it. Then copy the url and paste it on this page. Now, thats still not enough because you just have some random link. You also need to surround it with image codes like this; [noparse] If you did it with your avatar the text will look like this... [/noparse] And what everyone will see is this.... If it is on your computor, go to Imageshack or some other image hosting site and upload it, then copy the Direct Link. Paste that within the image tags just the same as you would with the other method, and you have your pics!
Welcome to the hub! As for your question, this thread should help you out. Also, to embed videos I believe you just paste the url of the video.
Great introduction. Tried to make one similar to yours and realised that we've got a lot in common. Exept that you live in "The City That Never Sleeps" and I live in the smallest community in Sweden. Lucky bastard x)
