The complaints about the grav lifts are valid, but don't forget they did set them up so that "short lifting" is still possible. If you practice it enough it shortens the time you spend in the air by nearly two-thirds and allows you to get out of the way of any placed nades and even surprise a waiting opponent.

How so? Haven't heard of that. I'd be interested to learn how to do it.

I've by no means mastered the move, but the basic idea is to hit the lift at a slight angle and not to run all the way into it. The moment you hit the lift begin Ghandi-hopping (crouching and uncrouching as quickly as you can.) The physics of short-lifting are a little inconsistent and will yield different results for on and off-host play, but if done right you should only lift up a few feet above the second level of the base and land only a few feet forward the lift.

Again I have yet to perfect the technique and only claim about a 25-30% effective rate of success when using it in actual games. I do believe its easier to do off-host as when practicing alone I've discovered I have a much lower success rate.

The ghandi hopping in the lift is hard to do every time especially off-host. I avoid using the lifts now. But I agree with most people, this map is awesome.

heretic was very successful, it flows pretty well too, which is a HUGE plus.

although most people seem to hate blackout, i absolutely love it. i really feel lockout while playing with it, and i don't really care about the differences, i like it a lot.

last resort and avalanche, though i didn't play sidewinder much, are good maps, and last resort was very well transitioned IMO, and the inside part fits better with Halo 3.

as for Cold storage, i don't like the map much, but never played it on halo 1 so cannot say.

    EDIT:

this also works for the pit btw, its SO nice because you are in the air so long i die about a third of the time i go up without short jumping

Well i had to disagree with you on Blackout, i played Lockout non stop, at MLG tourneys and local tourneys, so Blackout is a no go for me. But yes Last resort was an amazing remake, works just as good if not better than Zanzibar did. I honestly think Guardian captured Lockout better than Blackout did.
