I completely remodeled the lower floor of Contact and a little something more that is develping based of suggestions and news from a reliable that it couldnt be built. Problem solved. I removed the floors so i could take pictures easily. Alright theres the old version now here is the new: Overview of the Remodeled bottome floor (floors removed for easy viewing of layout) A good view from outside so you can also see where the catwalk is under development A view from the outer wall of the inner santum A remodeled Sanctum looks way better and gives a general idea of how awesome it will be view from the lobby just outside of the inner sanctum. at the top you can see there is a glass roof in this area. another view from within the lobby showing showing path way to one of the bases Completely remodeled bases (they are completely identical, so it would be pointless to take a picture of both). (the black X means "non playable area", i should have put a wall beween the blocks.) (the red arrow is pointing to where you would land if you dropped down from the second floor) Hope you enjoyed the new look, and yes there will be alot more added. this was all just the bottom floor. It will all float in the sky, and cover and scenery is still to be added. and yes i have the forge hub cost spreadsheet so this is all possible...with plenty of room to play with. Open to constructive criticism, hope you enjoyed my work so far.
All I see are large rooms and hallways, both of which share a common theme of gigantic lines of sight. Not to mention that there isn't anything spectacularly different between the rooms, you'll need callouts or people are going to get lost easily. Also, how many floors do you plan on adding? This is already looking like it's bigger than sandbox's crypt. On another note, update old threads, don't create new ones.
Yeah any tips on a super summetric themed map on how to put call outs? i was going to use the color changer in game and some lights to identify different spots. i could put some kind of land mark on different sides of the the lobby but pretty much orientation will tell people where they. (ie. one side is a mirror of the other, so when something is on the opposite side they know which side they are.) and as stated two bases two colors. also im going to add some cover and more detail to the big parts and make it all stick out. Yes this map is going to be as huge as i can make it. thank you for the great constructive criticism. duely noted about the threading as well.
The open areas are too open. You're going to need plenty of cover to make this work. In addition, multiple floors with a low ceiling will make the jetpack useless and cause some claustrophobia. Think about sword base from the beta: there were the side stairs and rooms, but everything was joined together by a huge, open center area which got rid of the claustrophobia.
