Hi my name is StellarWiid (pronounced Stellar Weed). I have been browsing different forums and checking out maps shared in Reach. I was hoping to find some really awesome maps, especially remakes of my favorite Halo 3 maps, but most maps I've seen are amateur at best. So I have decided to remake my favorite maps and create a few originals too. The first map I will publish is a remake of Narrows from Halo 3. I created a version last night but it felt too big and I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to mapping. I will have my final version finished tonight. Now you are all probably saying to yourselves what makes this StellarWiid guy think he can do what he claims. Well first off I have mapped on Unreal Engines 2 & 3, and the Source engine. I started mapping because I felt every game needed the Facility map from Goldeneye 64 (yes I've created Facility for Reach). Forge is easy, really easy. Also another reason I know I will succeed at releasing a Narrows like no one else has or will? The fact that I have the man cannons working 100%, no player damage on impact, and the player clears the railings. I feel everyone will love this and all my other maps. And hopefully a bar will be set and some true innovation can start coming from the community.
Can put a link of your version of Facility for Reach. Is it on your file share so I could download it? What's your gamertag. I tried to make Facility but ran out of walls. I would love to see your version.
My gt is StellarWiid. I will add Facility to my file share after Narrows. I need to clean it up a bit and set it up for a few modes like ctf and maybe 2 other modes. Also me and my friend went a bit nuts removing roofs to bring in flying vehicles lol. The key to not running out of walls is think big when choosing a wall, try to use blocks instead of walls when you can to they can be used for more surfaces.
