I need help with something. I've looked at many tutorials but have yet to find anything.

What I am trying to figure out how to do is create an explosion-triggered event that will, not open up, but permanently block off a room.

What I want is for an item of some sort that when hit by something it will fall (or appear or whatever) into a space that blocks off the room that the explosion/shooting took place in. But I want to make sure that this area is sealed for the rest of the game.

I tried a few things, such as floating some crates with grav lifts. A wall rested above them so that the crates, being blown upward, would hold. Blasting the gravs (witch would not respawn) with rockets caused the crates to fall. However, this was problematic because sometimes the crates would go off course with the gravs and fall prematurely. The gravs also interfered with player movement, as they are supposed to do, and made the room or area incredibly hard to enter and leave. I want it to be accessable for at least a little time.

So if anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Sorry the thread title makes no sense. It is very late, and I wasn't really paying attention to what I was typing. Heck, I don't even know what I was trying to say there.

I'm not sure if you can float a pallet but if you can use the floating glitch on some pallets to hold up some crates/wire spools/dumpsters and set the pallets to never respawn. And I figured out the idea you were getting at with the thread title. :D

Create a doorway with a gap in the roof for a dumpster to fall down from. Interlock a turret sideways underneath the dumpster so that only the legs show and support the dumpster. Use fusion coils or something to cause an explosion outside the doorway where the gun part of the turret is. This will break the turret and the dumpster will fall, blocking the doorway.

Grav lifts would work but I prefer turrets personally. The effect of explosion will go through walls so you could enclose the turret and stop it being used.

^Epic paint diagram. But you may be able to use the turret though.

Ok, put two fence walls down, and a dumpster inbetween. Place a grav lift either side of the fence walls next to the dumpster and set their spawn time as 180 and place at start: no.

Spawn another two grav lifts and set their run time minimum to 2 and respawn to never, place them where you want, and put a fusion coil about a double boxe's height above them and set that fusion coils respawn to 180 and place at start: no.

Put a fusion coil where you want the switch to be and put it's spawn time to never, and put the run time minimum to 1.

So when you destroy the fusion coil, it will force spawn the other, which drops down, and blows up the two grav lifts it spawns the other grav lifts and pushes the dumpster upwards.

    +Rep appreciated :D

No, you will not be able to use the turret in his drawing, BUT, there is one problem, the stand to the turret will pop off and jam up the door leaving a crack on the bottom, or it may make it slant and get jammed...

@ Mortarion: You don't need min and max, that is to OPEN a door, all you need to do is have something blow up what is holding it up... So I have no clue why you would make it min and max. It also used way too many grav lifts...

    So, what I suggest is:

Looking at Mallets picture, put a wall ontop of the dumpster and a grav lift on that, the grav lift will have a magnetic effect and hold the dumpster up. (I would actually suggest using 2 upright ones though, so that your hallway can be taller)

then have a fusion coil by the grav lift... then you can do a few things to finish it, you could just have them shoot through a fence wall on the ceiling, or you could have a few fusion coils that lead up there, any way works, if you need any more help go to:

MALLET IS PRO AT PAINT LOL.

i suggest using turret method as mallet said or to have a pallet supporting a crate (not in view mabey covered by wall)above the door way and have fusion coils above the pallet in view so when you shoot the fusion coils it blows up the pallet and drops the crate down. you have to make sure the pallet is on respawn never if you want it permenate tho.

if you want some personally help add me on live same name as on here.

Well, thanks everyone! I'm gonna try these ideas. See what works best for me and my map. And to others, please continue posting ideas if you want. All advice is greatly appreciated.
