Heavy Artillery on the Runway

    Heavy Artillery on the Runway

    The Runway is just that, a large military runway. Except there's a problem. Two enemy artillery guns have been stationed at one end of the runway, and are raining fire on your teammates on the battlefield. Your mission: take them out.


    The infection gametype places the two zombies at the end of the runway in the wraiths. The humans rush down the runway, picking up equipment and utilizing the little cover there is to make it down the runway. If they make it to the wraiths, two things could happen. The operator could get out, in which case you can quickly dispatch them with a magnum shot to the head. If the operator stays inside the wraith, you can simply board the back and plant a grenade into the engine.

    In the KOTH gametype, two people go to a team (red or blue, it switches in KOTH every game, so I can't define a team) and the rest go to the other team. In game, there is now a wall in front of the wraiths that prevent the attackers from killing them, but the wraiths can still shoot and see over the wall. The job of the attackers is now to gain as much hill time as possible while the wraiths pour fire onto them, gaining points from kills.

    You might want to put a roof on the human spawn. I bet the wraiths could still bomb the humans even with the shield doors there.

    I really like the concept. The KOTH game sounds very fun. I'll have to try this out. Inv me for testing whenever you're doing it.

    Spawn killing actually isn't a problem at all with this map. The damage resistance is just high enough that it takes one good hit and a little bit more to kill the humans/attackers. I'll get around to posting the gametype stats and updating them as they change.

    That seems pretty fun. I definetely look forward to this being released. :)

    Although, I do agree that it needs a roof, whether or not it actually kills you.

    I played the infection version of this yesterday, and the only problem I saw is when the humans came up to board the wraith, if they did it in the front the wraith could blow them up in the boarding. You have to go to the back of the wraith and board to kill the zombie.

    I actually think this looks kinda cool lol. Maybe add extra shield door roofs for taking ou the spawn killing aspect? Nice sig as well

    i agree with some of you guys, i thing also that there should be proof on the human spawn area.

    Nice and clean forging. Especially the wall behind the (very good forged-in) Wraiths. One question though: does the hill move during gameplay, or is there one stationary hill? Oh, and how long do you expect a round will be?

    For the KOTH variant, I think you should mess around with symmetrical/asymmetric settings for adding other wraiths(unless KOTH is asymmetric too?)

    There are multiple hills with different weightings to balance their survivability. Rounds should last 2-3 minutes when the gametype is perfected.

    Isn't there only two wraiths anyway?



    I will probably be adding a roof to the spawn area because of popular demand. Also, expect to see me testing this later this week into the weekend.

    This seems like a great map can't wait for it to come out. But I do agree it does need a roof for that part. Just send me a PM when this map is done so I can DownLoad can't wait. :)

    This reminds me a lot of my map, Temperum.
