Headground High is an assymetrical map designed for all default Halo 3 gametypes, especially Team Slayer, One Flag CTF and Assault. Inspired by Headlong from Halo 2, High Ground from Halo 3 and Hang 'em High from Halo, this map combines various elements into a complex battle arena. The main defensive base, equivalent to the base in High Ground, can be entered via a door in the main wall, or taking the side stairs up to the top of the wall and then in, or by going all the way around via the back hallway, which can only be entered by the room on the opposite side of the map. The defensive base has a sniper perch accessed via teleporter directly below, positioned on the left side of the base with protective barriers with slits to snipe through. Inside the base, there is a grav lift for defenders to get on top of the wall, as well as a shotgun, battle rifle and mauler, among other weapons, positioned throughout. The attacking base is not so much a base really as a space behind a really big farm-house looking structure. There are more ways into this base but that is countered by a turret above the flag spawn/return spot. The attackers have access to a catwalk that climbs up and wraps all the way around the map to the defensive base, and at the middle of the catwalk goes up to the rocket spawn and also access to the sword spawn. In front of the attacker's base is the farm-house, as I call it, a multilevel structure containing a shotgun, battle rifle and bubble shield, as well as spike grenades. The attackers can go to their right along the side of the map and enter the back hallway to the defensive base, and additionally acquire a battle rifle and deployable cover. SMGs are available as well in this location and multiple other spots throughout the map. There are a couple semi-open spaces with scattered cover, to create a more dynamic gameplay experience, in addition to a mongoose at each base for rapid access to somewhere, wherever you want to go, really, you're the driver. Weapons on the map are two sniper rifles, one rocket launcher, one sword, one brute shot, multiple battle rifles and assault rifles, a covenant carbine, plasma rifle, needler, spikers, magnums and SMGs. There are frag grenades, plasma grenades and spike grenades throughout the map as well. Available equipments are a bubble shield, deployable cover, regenerator and shield drain. Powerups on the map are an overshield and active camo that are only available in asymmetric games. There are also shield doors at each base to prevent mongeese from driving in, players can access the attacking base via mongoose through two ways, one of which is very tricky and is easily grenaded. In my opinion, this is the best map I've ever made, I had my roommate watching the whole time while he avoided studying for his final tomorrow, and he kept second guessing me and forcing me to make things better. Re: My best map yet - Headlong High - an original masterpiece Looks good, but you forgot a link. I really like the idea of combining Halo, Halo2, and Halo3 maps, only I would have called it High Hangin' Ground
No screens this isnt up to forge hub standards. EDIT by Furious: Don't bring these old threads back to the top by posting in them. You're pushing newer better maps down the list.
crouch, you have to include a link like this: this post is not up to the forgehub standards, please read this topic to learn how to post your map properly.
