[HD] Sacrifice on [HD] Lava Pit 2-16 players. But, it is recommended to have at least 5 players. Also, 16 players can get very hectic. Hello, and welcome to my very first ForgeHub Map post! You may remember 'Lava Pit' from that Halo 3 classic of the same name. For the hell of it, I added '[HD]'. No, my map really isn't in HD, I just named it like that in order to get more downloads. If you haven't played this map in Halo 3, then let me explain it to you. This game is like Monster Trucks. The name of the game suggests that this map is built around a pit - a pit of the lava sort. Careful around the middle! There are seven rounds, and each round is seven minutes long. At the start of every round, you will spawn next to either a Mongoose, a Ghost, or a Warthog, and there are eight of each vehicle. Get in the vehicles and push your friends to their deaths! Watch out for the falls - they are pretty deadly! Also, all players have certain player traits, which are as follows: Starting Weapon: Magnum Lives: Seven (7) Shields: 3x Overshields Damage Modifier: 75% Player Speed: 75% Armor Ability: Evade AA Use: Unlimited Weapon Ammo: Unlimited As well, every death counts as -1. Kills don't count as points, so the only way to have the most points is to have less negative points than your friends. If you lose all seven lives before the time limit of seven minutes is up, you will have to sit it out. If you are careless enough to lose all seven lives, you will have to sit it out. There are, however, certain ways to escape dying. On every side of the map is a Man Cannon. In order to get to them, you must either drive your vehicle onto one, or jump at the edge of the platform. If you jump on them without a vehicle, you will be blasted in the direction of the lava pit, and your life will be spared. If you drive into one, the man cannon will blast you directly into the lava pit, and you either have to get out and risk being run over, or stay in and perish. The man cannon - a friend, if used correctly; a foe, if taken advantage of. In every corner of the map lies a single Plasma Grenade, which re-spawns every 180 seconds, and is not available at the start. If you stick a player who is near the edge, they are more than likely to fall off - and yell into their headset. It may be small, but it packs a punch. Enough of my talk. Here are some action shots: Action Shots A little bit of what to expect after a game-start rush. Something your insurance probably won't cover. Ouch, now that will definitely be felt in the morning. Double hijackings. Two new vehicles - the Invisible Ghost and the Civilian Warthog. Make sure to avoid gang-fights at all costs! "Hey! That's my car!" "Man, I hate my job..." Doctor, Doctor! This mysterious blue light appeared on my ding-dong! Well, there is my map. In case you missed the download links, here they are: [HD] Sacrifice on [HD] Lava Pit Download or you'll end up like this guy: "AHH! GET THEM OFF ME!" Oh, by the way. Please use constructive criticism, as this is one of the first maps I have built on Halo Reach. Thanks. EDIT: I am currently in the works of getting version 1.2.1 of this map finished. A lot of changes will be included in order to give the best possible version of this map.
I see you posted your first map. This was one of the first minigames I played in H3 but also one of my favorites, I mean doesn't like pushing oversized jeeps into lavapits? The map itself has clean forging, you really can't expect much aesthetics in a mini game, so good job remaking a fun level and gametype from Halo 3!
i dont mean to sound mean, but there's already like 10 remakes of this same map (dating to when Reach first came out). but congrats on your first post! the forging looks very clean but for the middle lava pit, the pit angled down instead of just a hole in the floor. if you play the original again you'll know what i mean.
@Ociee: Thanks. I always love creating remakes and getting the rush of nostalgia that runs at me. @Frozenghost: I'm pretty sure the Lava Pit you are talking about with the "angled inward" part is from a different map. As for the forging neatness, thank you. I tried a large bit to make every object be in line and together. It took me the greater part of half an hour to create and perfect the center, and even longer to perfect the entire thing.
Like those who stated before me this is a fun game but it has been done numerous times and no offense but its not the best. But yours is slightly different since the one i play on has only ghost and lets you choose evade or armor lock. Also if you can't get points whats stopping me from hiding behind the strut all game? just a thought.
Yes, I know it has been done numerous times. This is just my version of the remake. I tried to make mine as different as possible without making an entire new map or straying too far off the original. As for the ability to camp behind the strut, I haven't seen anyone in my party stay behind a strut for more than 30 seconds, so in my eyes, that doesn't need to be fixed.
thats very nicely made. but how'd u get the "new vehicles" i think if u posted a tut that'd be awesome
The 'new vehicles', or the 'invisible ghost' and 'civilian warthog' are hardly operable at all, not to mention real. I got a glimpse of said vehicles in one of my play-tests where one player had horrible connection. The vehicle appearances looked like that when I went int theater. Sorry, there is no tutorial, as those vehicles do not exist and were found through lag. NOTE: I will post Version 1.1 of this map once I receive 130 downloads, which is right around the corner. So, continue downloading! It will benefit both me and you.
