Im trying to look and see if there are any but i haven't seen any decent ones that even resemble it. I know there are a few maps that still haven't been remade very well.
I assume you mean the default lay-out and not the barren version. It shouldn't be too hard rebuilding it except for the sides, I guess.
well im almost done rebuilding it but the middle is a little hard to rebuild but i will figure something out
Budget is not a issue what so ever thats why im wondering why i have not seen a good remake of it. Sorry i can't do that as im basically built the map in the sky fairly close to the auto soft kill that is built in to forge world Im thinking of trying to remake the hills but i need to check where all they are and how big about they are. So far having built the entire map (except for the hills) i still have like 5000 cash or so. This is how far long i am YouTube - Project M.E.T.A.L
This is a really minor detail, it's not like we need to be able to forge on the gird, just push it through the soft barrier...
I Have a remake. It's no longer in my fileshare, though. I can put it back up later if you want. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Also, that overshield piece is way too high.
was it like near perfect ? I just need to finish the hills and im done ill look into the overplacement. i might just move it entirely because of how low i would have to have it because there is no portable gravlift you can throw down only a jetpack
If you look at my profile, I've posted it a while back; I'll try to find the thread. It was pretty good, but b/c I wanted it to look natural, it's built in the canyon and doesn't have as much driving room behind the bases; also no dunes. Other than that it was pretty good. Here it is.
i took a look at it. the bases look like they lack the proportions they are in the original also from what i saw parts look very unclean or messy I don't think you should have chosen the revanent for replacing the chopper as its much more powerful than it was It wasnt a bad attempt but i just feel like it lacks what the original had Im making mine with the classic setting in mind so i think as of right now all i need to do is finish the dunes and take a look at the overshield height placement
Honestly, unless you want the map to be all gray (please don't build it in the sky; nothing against you, it just looks ugly that way), I think you should take my approach and rather than make the dunes yourself, use the natural terrain to your advantage. I don't see what people think is sloppy about my remake. The bases are scaled perfectly, using the equivalent pieces, and I honestly don't know what looks messy about it. Maybe it was the uneven terrain, idk. If you compare my overview to this, you can tell that it actually matches up pretty well. Also, the fact that mine didn't have much driving room behind the bases actually turned out to be a good thing, as it limits the tactic of circling the enemy base and spawnkilling.
Taking out the driving room is your own opinion but i feel like it takes away from what it was. Gray comment....... You do realize 80% of forged maps are like all gray right? While i like to use terrain in certain situations it was not gonna work for sandbox. There is not any terrain close enough to what the original was The messy parts of the map are well....obvious in my opinion as there are parts that shjould not stick out and suchunder the middle looks ugly overall as it looks like a poor choice of pieces. The bases look good but they are off sized in certain areas (the sides of it for example)
I may try my own Sandbox if I have nothing better to do I would have thought there'd be a lot of Sandbox recreations, seeing as we have all the simple block shapes. But no, just lots of Lockout remakes... I found a nice place to build a map but haven't been able to think of a good design, I think I'll use the Sandbox layout as a start and see what I come up with after that.
Well, it might be different if you're building with classic gametypes in mind, but make sure you can slide jump (not normal jump) up the sides of the bases right next to where the flag spawns. That was a critical tactic.
