Has anyone in the Forge community noticed the similarities between Halo 5's Forge and Far Cry 2?

When Forge first came out I instantly noticed a lot of similarities between Halo 5's Forge and Far Cry 2's Map Editor. The controls, multi-select, even (limited) terrain editing. It all just feels so similar to Far Cry 2's Map Editor that I'd almost go as far to say that maybe some of the Ubisoft guys that worked on Far Cry 2 are now on the Forge team at 343.

Anyway, has anyone in the Forge community noticed this connection? Or maybe I'm just crazy with Far Cry nostalgia...

Yeah. One is trying be a real map editor, and one IS a real map editor.

Both take elements from actual development platforms like Autodesk, Hammer, Sketch-up etc.

Halo just pushes you to make your maps with blocks to make your own assists and layout and far cry uses full prefabs structures for you to assemble on your made landscapes.

I would say far cry is the console editor that we have from an actual kit as it has more limitations than even halo 3. Though halo has borrowed some of the same elements from software that far cry did.
