you should put a powerup on instant spawn and it makes him invincible and gives him limited ammo and make a few ground bases with terrortories to capture and then the main base of each team and make it so terrortories dont lock and when you have all the small bases you atack the last base and once you have everything in your controll you win ! i could help you when i get the map pack because i will like to do a map like this
I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this, becuase i haven't read all the comments, but i have some ideas for leader powers. you can have fuel rod cannons as maybe a carpet bomb cause they taken longer to travel and they're quick to shoot. Also for maybe a clensing beam you can have a senital beam. And for the covenant team, the commander can have a teleporter that can go down to the ground and you can give him an energy sword so he's like the arbiter, or a gravity hammer so he's like the brute chieftain.
Those are some cool ideas man, but I don't know if they will work with everything else. I think I am dropping the leader power thing .
Yeah, I think Leader Powers are out of the question now because you can use the Leader Powers to drop more weapons, vehicles, and troops, instead of actually attacking people with the gun.
qhy does that make them out of the quesyion? i think it makes it more balanced so if you want to have a mac blast you have to wait for that tank. it makes you have to think what you want. one guy might use his powers for the first 90 seconds until his weapons respawn to get his team all the vehicles, then the other one might give his team weapons and support. so you have to consider the pros and cons.
It would balanced if people would properly use the leader powers, but people would use the leader powers to get more stuff instead I think. I think it would just kind of break the whole system I am trying to use. Alright, I updated the first post with pics on my progress. Sorry chung_wii for not inviting you, I had to go, and had to hurry up and save quick. I need some suggestions guys. First off... What weapon should everyone start with? The actual fighters get BRs at their spawn, and the Commander gets a Sniper at its spawn, but what should everyone start with? I can't use BRs because then the Commander could use it. I was thinking SMGs because they will be useless for the Commander due to their range, but Maulers and Shotguns and also a consideration. Then, there is the Hornet on the map. It is just a regular one, but I worry it will be over powered. The weapons available for drop down are: Sniper, Brute Shot, and Rockets. But none of those counter Hornets very well (Note: All players will have double the normal health, and no recharge on their shields). I can't use Lasers because they would dominate everything else too well (especially because of unlimited ammo). I was thinking Missile Pods, but do you still get unlimited ammo with a Missle Pod (assuming unlimited ammo is on), or is it always a fixed amount? If it is a fixed amount, the Missile Pod would work good. Tell me what you think guys, thanks!
cheesejam, I was thinking that the 2 bases in the middle area need to already have weapons there. it would wasnte too much time making other commander options, and it'd cover parts of the map. so have weapons start there. and as far as the hornet goes, i think it'll be overpowering for humans by themselfs, but if you are in a worthog. You can gun it down. since you have more health.
I was thinking of putting a few minor weapons and some equipment at the 3 middle bases just to give each team a "reward" for capturing a base. So a Warthog is a good counter to a Hornet, that's good news, because each team gets Hornets!
yeah gauss hogs, ghosts, banshees, just about every vehicle exceppt mongeese are good against hornets.
Make sure you have a Spartan Laser NEAR the vehicles. Not too close, but about a 5 second walk from them. That way people can't rampage and get killing sprees easily.
halo wars I tried to make a map like this but I could not get the leader system working. I like your idea. Could I have a link to see the map and how you did it. As for the map you should make it territories. When in the bases you are extra strong to help defend and the bases would take some time to make yours. plus you could tell which bases your team has.
I have decided against Lasers, too overpowered in a map like this. It is just too open, big, and the Laser will go right through double health in one hit. Send me a friend request and I can send you what I have so far. I should be finished by tomorrow, and I will do play testing the next day. What part was troubling you, maybe I could explain how I did it. Yeah, I also decided territories are the way to go. I didn't even think of that extra strong thing, nice idea! I didn't know you could control the traits of people in a territory!
Yeah, I have the gametype ready. I just need to finish the map so I can playtest it! I have encountered soooooooooo many problems with the spawning, and I only have one left. I know how to fix it, but I won't have time until Thursday. I am shooting for playtesting on Friday, wish me luck!
