So it is now 2013 and still no sign of a Halo movie in the near future. How many years has it been now since one has been discussed by Hollywood? Six years I think...? Anyways, do you think Hollywood will ever actually make a Halo movie? Who do you think will direct it and what style of filming should they use (real life + CGI or full blown animation). Will they mess it up as bad as Hollywood's "Doom" movie? Who do you want to play as Master Chief and Cortana? What halo event should the movie focus on first? I really enjoyed watching Forward unto Dawn and if there's a lot more funding provided, Halo can possibly earn one of the biggest box office sales in movie history. I think the best time for a movie was around the release of Halo 3 but will a time come that it will be too late to make one?
I really hope M. Night Shaymalan doesn't direct it. The Last Airbender was such a huge let-down. I don't think it's too late to make a movie, if they are discussing it in Hollywood, they're probably sorting everything out. If you picture it, a Halo movie could take a lot of work to make it look visually appealing. Just like Avatar, it was a loooooong process and it's one of the best movies of all time.
I don't want a "Halo" movie, I want a movie centring around Halo 1, 2 and 3. This Forerunner bullshit is retarded, there's absolutely no reason for it other than a cash grab.
yes. Yes all the way Mickey rourke as the mc the main character from underworld( forgot her name) as cortana
It was so close. Thanks to stupid pricks being greedy we probably will never see it. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Interesting stuff.
It would be awesome if Quentin Tarantino directed it We all know that he knows how to make a great guts-and-glory film
A Halo movie sounds like a drag at this point. The Forerunner trilogy (Halo 4+) is incomplete, and the original trilogy (Halo 1-3) seems very difficult to perform in a movie format. There would have to be one movie per game, the props would all have to be from one game so they were reusable, exposition by text would act as a prologue, and lots of action would have to be skipped, yet at the same time the viewer would have to understand how Master Chief got from one area to the next.
The problem with a movie featuring the main character(s) from a game is because of the nature of the game. You are the main character and your interactions drive what the character does (and in some games, how they act or behave). This is why Forward Unto Dawn was so good. The main character(s) were not the chief. This allowed the main narrative to tell new, creative stories, with their own drama in the same universe as the characters we know from the game without soiling their name. Any successful halo movie would have to do this or else risk not living up to expectations. I mean the concept of halo is basically "Aliens" meats "Starship Troopers" so if all the action is just burly marines blowing **** up while corny action hero, Chief, says one liners while blowing up **** the movie would be awful. At the same time, however, mentioning the Chief or showing him off in select scenes would be enough fan service to placate people and if done right could go very well. As far as who should do what, (I'm going pure fantasy of the perfect cast) Sergeant Johnson Captain Keyes Master Chief (honestly, I thought David Cudmore was perfect, he fit the suit well and doesn't have to speak all that much) Cortana I don't see why the current voice actor couldn't continue doing so seeing as this would be a CGI effect anyway. Director Producer Don't really give a f*ck. I guess Peter Jackson? Sure why not.
i thought that bungie having final say contributed to why the film never got going before. something along the lines of what was money was offered was not enough to make what they wanted be associated with. (ie sacrafices were too many) now bungie has left i am afraid that any film would be for the money and like a lot of conversions, one not to watch. there is enough for a very good film if done right - forward unto dawn is supposedly a 'feeler' to see if it can be done. hollywood isnt taking gambles at this point.
I like Pacmonster's choice of Sergeant Johnson, and Keyes. Looks like they would fit well. But Master chief seems hard to pick a actor for, He needs to have a good bodybuild and he is bald.. A good voice, one that doesn't speak to much, but if he does, it impresses you. David Cudmore, was not a bad pick for FUD imo.
Samuel L. Jackson as SGT. Johnson..... I can see it now "Im tired of these mother f**king covenant on this mother F**king ring.... Kills an elite." lol
ARNOLD F***ING Schwarzenegger as the master chief Samuel L. Jackson as SGT. Johnson now you got a covie ass kicking to watch and put easter eggs in the movie for the quick eyed halo fan
It doesn't matter who plays as Masterchief. Since they're not going to show his face, they should just get the same voice actor in the video games. As for Cortana, I think Kate Beckinsale would do good. They have the same hair and they're both hot. Not that I see Cortana.....as.....hot. Ahem, I mean, come on....she's not even human. So...whatever.
Kate beckinsale as cortana is a good idea but kate is better at killing licans in that sooooo hot latex or leather get up oh yea...
