From creating maps to creating apps:

Just wanted to give the heads up that I published an app on the Android Marketplace. It's a Reach weapon respawn timer. There are looping timers for the Team Slayer, Arena and MLG playlists. Voice prompts will let you know 30 seconds before, 10 seconds before and when weapons are respawning. There's a help guide as well that will help you get started.

Visit the blog below to check out more about it. Feel free to leave comments/critiques and so on.

If interested, the app name is Reach Weapon Timer made by Diggin Apps

Thanks so much, hope you like it

App store pl0x? This sounds real nice, can we customize it ourselves in any ways?

Hey Skater, unfortunately an app for the App Store isn't currently in the works. This is version 1.0, I focused mainly on accuracy and efficiency of the timers so there are no customizable options in the launched version. However, I will be sending updates and maintaining the app. I am putting a video of the app in action on Youtube tomorrow.

Check it out if you get a chance, I'll provide the link tomorrow as well.

    Thanks

Umm, you cant time weapons in team slayer because nothing is drop spawned, so the weapons wont always spawn after a certain time period

You can start and stop the TS timers on the app. So if you have the sniper, start the timer. When the timer is up, if you are still holding that sniper then you stop the sniper timer. When you go change out the old sniper for a new weapon, the sniper will respawn because the time limit for that snipers respawn is up. Go get the sniper again and start the timer. It's best to get the power weapon and start the timer, then when you are out of ammo with that power weapon, change it out right away so it will be back when the app timer is up. That way you only have to start the timers once. Even if you pick up the rockets and die 3 seconds later and the enemy gets them, they should still come back when the app timer is up as long as when they are empty they are dropped. I'll post a video of how it works later today.

So is there a way you can say when an item is taken. No like "Bob took the sniper" but something like: "sniper taken." ?

Hey Robbie, I actually do want to implement voice commands so you can say "Start Sniper Timer", or "Start Rocket Timer" when you pick the weapon up. That way you never have to take your focus off the game. So yes, there will be an update in the future that will allow you to start the timers with a voice command.

*If I can get it working right that is.

but are you going to make it so when another player picks up the weapon that you will be alerted to this before you run half-way over then and find it missing (only to get blown up by a missle launcher).

I don't think it's possible to sync the timer to the actual game so the only way to know when weapons are picked up is to take them, communicate with your team so the can tell you when they're picking up a weapon, or see the enemy actually take it.

I appreciate your interest though :)

Did you happen to download it? If so, do you have any other thoughts, suggestions or comments about it?

All right I just wasn't sure what you were capable of doing with the app and just trying to suggest an idea. Are you going to make it so that the timer can cerispond with more weapons?

I seen one of these for H3, but it was for the computer. Do you think you will make a computer version for the people that don't have smart phones?

I actually started out with an html version that was accessible on the web, but I don't have a server to host it so I developed an app instead. Robbie, thanks for all of your great suggestions!

I'm glad to see that you have finally released the Reach Weapon Timer. I hope all of your hard work, time, and deication that you have put into this app pays off.

I've noticed you have updated a couple of things which is perfect and means alot to the consumer. I like that you are on top of things and obvisously want people to get the best experience out of your app. Keep up the good work and continue to listen to the consumers because this is where alot of people fail!

Can't wait to use it!!! D/ling now!

    I'll post feedback later.

Isn't there already an app similar to this? If you are aware, are there any differences between the two? I am not trying to dis your idea, it's a good one, but I could've sworn I saw this in the appstore by someone else.

Hey Badger, yeah there is another app that times weapons, but it hasn't been updated for a while. It does not have the new maps, the voice that warns you of the weapon respawning is the same for each weapon, and it is a hard to understand computer voice. I have a team of recorded voices, each voice is different for each weapon. That being said, I also made this app because it's good to have options. If you wanted fast food, you wouldn't want to be forced to eat McDonald's every day, so consider my app to be Taco Bell, or some other wicked awesome fast food restaurant. It's pretty much the same thing, but looks and tastes, (yes tastes), oh so different.

If you check it out, let me know what you think.

    Thanks

Alright thanks for clarifying! Yeah you make a good point with the changing and I was unaware it didn't have the new maps.
