Just got my wisdom teeth extracted and now this? I'm a sad panda Did get a few lols from the video though.
okay, so yea there was an april fools thingy with the halo movie thing, but they did also release a vidoc which everyone seems to have missed.. Bungie.net : Halo: Reach Multiplayer ViDoc : 4/1/2010 9:08 AM PDT Youtube video: YouTube - Halo: Reach Multiplayer ViDoc, Zugzwang Evolved i havnt watched it yet, I'll give more info when i have EDIT: Umm.. Halo Chess :L I dunno what to say tbh. EDIT 2: Rocket Launcher seems to have the lock-on style cross hair, suggesting lock on rocket launcher.. There really isn't much else I can pick up from the vidoc...
Im hopin that they keep forge in reach for GRIFBALL!! anyway, the beta looks awesome, cant wait to play it and get rlly gud then pwn everyone who dosent have beta from the march multi player maddness vid on waypoint, i think the coolest mode so far is Headhunter =) EDIT: i just checked bungie.net and found this http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=25354 BIGGEST BOMBSHELL EVER! im not kidding,i had to watch twice to make sure i heard right. watch, listen, react in this fourm
If that room where they played "chess" in is the new forging space, I'm so psyched. I mean cmon, it's literally a perfect cuboid for us to do whatever we want in. Plus, the forerunner stylings of the map implies that there will be forerunner objects to place...
if it ties in with the campaign mode, how do they make barriers so you don't escape? they couldn't be natural
Some interesting things of note from the April Fools Day ViDoc: Check out the sword 'ammo' meter. as squidhands pointed out, could potentially mean that different actions with the sword deplete different amounts of energy 2 things here: The ammo meter for the plasma pistol has seen a cool overhaul, and it looks like they changed the symbol for the sprint armor ability Ammo counts down differently for most weapons now, apparently Also, directly from Brian Jarrard over at NeoGAF: so that myth is debugged.
Bungie Weekly Update! Thank god. At least elites are now confirmed to have more than 1 armor ability. Oh thank god yes. There were tons of other goodies in the weekly update, especially revealing the new weapons (plasma launcher, focus rifle, ect) but my one concern is this.. I trust bungie's doing the right thing by doing this.. but seriously. That is one massive elite hitbox : P
You cant see the hitbox; it's invisible. I think you're afraid that the silhouette exactly matches the silhouette of the models. Even then, the event of finding an enemy standing dead still and facing directly towards you hardly seems unfair.
I'm just trying to say that the elite looks massive in contrast to the spartan. I know it's been balanced with giving elites better speed, agility, and faster regeneration, but still. I'm sure that machinima directors will benefit off of this though.
random person: "What happens if I use Armour Lock in mid-air???" Urk: "people die" That. Just. Happened.
Well I'm officially upset with Reach now...Loadouts = LAME! A feature I loved of Halo is the fact that you had to go and pick up your weapons...allowing players to choose preset somewhat good weapons is extremely dumb and I'm very upset about it. I'm also upset that you won't be able to choose between a spartan and a elite for matchmaking...I liked being able to choose even though I always used a spartan. Some of the weapons seem kind of cool but a lot just seem like, oh this might be cool lets add it in... Idk I kind of didn't like this update it ruined my thoughts of the game now
I think my buddy MADMAN summed up the counter to this pretty adequately. He was illustrating how Reach and COD are different, but the arguments apply here just as equally: hope that helps a bit.
I used to fear the loadouts as well, but after seeing this update, I'm estatic for Reach. Plus we can create predefined loadouts in customs, which will probably lead to some amazing games. Same, I can imagine it now, going off a man cannon and the activate and land on a hog or person. I hope it wont happen if I'm flying a full falcon, someone jumps out and uses it.
I love the armor abilities because they mix the **** out of gameplay. No more consistent warthog ownage. You have to be careful. Every AA can somehow get out of a splatter, and one kills you instead. A couple of strategies I'm thinking of: Making a line of lockdowns to take down an incoming warthog hiding on the ceiling with the jetpack flag sprinting, camo, or jetpack people with sprint and elites always get vehicles first xD
